Question: Which ability do you most often use for the Golgari Charm ?

Also, what about swapping an Oblivion Ring with a Sever the Bloodline ? The broader removal could help your attackers get through. But that's just a suggestion you might want to only try. I can definitely see both Sever the Bloodline s in the side board as a fine choice.

Golgari Charm is generally used against enchantment decks. I lost to an Invisible Stalker enchantment deck at FNM once and so they got put in the sideboard to account for that. The regeneration is also nice. There are two reasons I have Oblivion Ring in the mainboard instead of Sever the Bloodline . One: The mana cost is lower, allowing me to more easily remove a threat and still play my own threat. Two: The versatility. Oblivion Ring . removes everything, whereas Sever the Bloodline only removes creatures. I sideboard Sever the Bloodline in against decks similar to mine

Also, what do people think of adding 1 Obzedat in this deck after gatecrash hits? It would be nice with Restoration Angel and it's a five drop 5/5 which is nice. Link is here: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=138251&stc=1&d=1357016726

I agree. I read an interesting article on the daily mtg. But I ask why? It's difficult enough to block your onslaught of creatures, so why go for a combo when it just takes up space?

It might find a place in the sideboard. The reasoning would be because hes a 5/5 that deals 2 damage and gains me 2 life each turn and he can't be boardwiped on my opponents turn. It would be nice against control decks. At this moment I sideboard in Sigarda but she doesn't help against boardwipes. Can you link the article?

Also, I have a deck that I have been working on for a while, so if you could give some feedback, that would be much appreciated.

Sure. It includes two deck ideas, which will be worth trying I think (especially the Esper). http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/rc/228

I think Obzedat might have mana issues with the current land base, but if you can manage to cast it, you'll find that losing is quite difficult afterward.

Remember that there will be Godless Shrine s in here once gatecrash hits. I would obviously change the base if I do decide to run one or two. It would probably be better than Geist-Honored Monk . Maybe I'll just make another deck focused around him, that esper one in the article looks appetizing

Yup, I posted one that is pretty much that, but with some edits. deck:esper-control-01-01-13-1

I absolutely love Vampire Nighthawk , but there is just no space to add more non-token producing creatures

You can get Overgrown Tomb and Temple Garden out with Farseek .

1-2 Collective Blessing would be solid even for your pilgrims

Collective Blessing is cool but like Parallel Lives I don't want to be dropping that much mana for an enchantment when I could be doing things with immediate impact. I've taken 1 blessing in and out over and over and I'm still not convinced.

Blessing has turned many of my opponents' assured defeats into surprising victories. Don't discount it. I wouldn't run more than one though, since it's pretty narrow and it won't save you from a one-sided board.

I'm not so sure you need a playset of Farseek in here. Another token generator, like Gather the Townsfolk (for cheap token making), Call of the Conclave (if you want bigger guys), or Increasing Devotion (if you want to go with a higher curve, more impact spell) will probably benefit you more than the amount of mana fixing you have in Farseek .

This looks like a great deck. Lots of token generation and fun game mechanics.with Gatecrash out now, I'm wondering if you have come across manly Illness in the Ranks and what you are doing about it? My local meta has everyone running at least three in side or main board and while I can say that oblivion ring can remove them one at a time, but even a flood of 1/1 tokens gets killed off with a single illness.
I've been putting in Golgari Charm s to combat them and prevent blow outs due to board wipes.

Does anyone have a cheaper version of this deck? Not much $ to spend as this, but looks good.

Ya I've been building this over a very long period of time, probably would be quite challenging to build in one go. Most of the cost of the deck lies in the lands so if you can't afford those you can run basics with Evolving Wilds and maybe Abundant Growth for fixing. Farseek also helps you fix. I hope you can get a successful version
hollandboys says... #1
I agree, but there is absolutely nothing I can think of removing from this deck. It's at a point where I feel like changes to the mainboard won't make it any better. The sideboard is open for changes though
