Thing I like about Clash w/Negate sided is G1 you play it X=1 when they are playing on curve. Then G2, you side out for Negates and they delay a turn anticipating the Clash you may have in your hand

As for Talent, yes its high up on the curve meter for us which as why I would only include a 1-of if ever.

Since I have no 1 drops I always drop a creature on turn 2 or I won't win. Clash of Wills sounds good in theory but it just isn't a good fit, at least not in my rendition of the build.

You and I have VERY similar decks. I'm running things a little different though, and really think you should consider Fevered Visions. You may also want to move Talent of the Telepath from maybe to side. Visions has managed to win me a few games and is really great for the extra draw in a deck where spells are so cheap. And if your opponent is happy staying below 4 because they also have cheap spells, sideboard it out for something else.

Talent is great to sideboard in against tempo/destroy/exile decks, as you can manage to use their spells against them and cast 3 spells for 4 mana to quickly flip Thing. I know you can cast 3 smaller spells for 3, but now you can do it with one card to help keep card advantage.

My deck if you're interested:

Go Team Izzet! 4-1 is great.

Oddly enough my deck has morphed into a similar build. (no baby jace, different side tech). Speaking of which, how'd your side tech pan out? and did you ever get to pull off a chandra + thing together? Amazing combo there.

I've never done that particular combo but Chandra hits for 8+ damage almost everytime she's unanswered so thats devastating enough lol.

As for the sideboard, really I use a lot of counterspell. Sometimes I'll side in more burn, but not usually. Glint helps a lot against bigger creatures and Day's Undoing is surprisingly a life saver against control heavy decks and it basically guarantees victory against mill decks. I probably should switch out the artifact hate but as soon as I do I'll end up getting wrecked by a left-field artifact deck because that's how it works lol

Revisions to come with Eldritch Moon:

Cut

Thing in the Ice  Flip x2

Negate x3

Fiery Impulse x3 (Sidebord x1)

Add

Curious Homunculus

Curious Homunculus x2 - Thing in the Ice  Flip became a lot less deadly in EMN due to everything being a horror. So this little guy will help us get more spells out for cheaper. I kept it at two of each so I still don't get wrecked against TITI horror decks.

Unsubstantiate

Unsubstantiate x3 - this card has better Tempo and more versatility than Negate and oftentimes a single extra turn is all I need.

Galvanic Bombardment

Galvanic Bombardment x3 (Sideboard x1) - I like this one better than Fiery Impulse because of how it scales as the game goes on, This switch may not occur til Kaladesh or be changed by something better there, but I feel it could be a good replacement or maybe even an upgrade to Fiery Impulse.

I don't like the four mana cost. Everything in my deck is 3 mana or lower to preserve the Aggro side. This deck is capable of winning with only two lands, I've done it before and if I go over three drops then I'll need more lands and that would mess the whole balance of the deck up.

I kind of think that you have too many buff spells. You're running 17 spells to buff your creatures, in my deck I'm only running 7. The problem with buff spells is that the fewer creatures that you have in a deck than the weaker they are. The other side of the coin in your deck is prowess, the prowess is weaker the fewer spells that you are running. This means that prowess rewards you for playing fewer spells, and buff spells reward you for playing more creatures. I'm basically just saying that balance is very tricky in a deck like this.

For comparison here is mine:http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/08-08-16-fire-and-ice/

I disagree with the running fewer buff spells with the number of creatures he has. Buff spells are the best spells to run with prowess creatures, and while he doesn't have a ton of creatures, he shouldn't need any more. With a couple creatures with prowess and a few mana, you can do a lot of damage with those buffs. We're talking 5 damage with 1 creature with a 1 mana spell, or a whopping 12 damage for 4 mana if you cast both strength and fury... and if you do that on the spellfist, it's unblockable! You can easily win a game with just 1 spellfist and 1 stormchaser.

This is pretty similar to my first version of this deck, though I've made a few changes that I really liked. I posted mine a few comments up if you're interested in where I went with it.

Wow lol, a deck that I haven't tinkered with for like a month is suddenly getting popular again xD this list is still unchanged from EMN, it ran amazing during SOI as Harbynger pointed out, simply because it was so explosive that I could win with only two lands. I updated the deck in person but kot here yet, mostly I just added in a tiny bit more burn and go some more reliable creatures and it makes for a really nice Tier 2 strategy. I would never out less buff spells in here after playing one for forever TheGoblinStar if anything I wish there was more room for another set of buff spells.
