uhm Spirit of the Labyrinth doesnt stop Pain Seer actualy, you dont draw cards with pain seer actualy, you reveal and put them into your hand. Thats not drawing.

Ofcourse Spirit of the Labyrinth doesnt stop your oponents draw at your upkeep, but if you have Master of the Feast it stops them from getting more then 1 card each turn.

3/1 Enchantment Creature for 2 with this ability is great in any deck that can play it, its even better in yours so i would put it back in.

Spirit of the Labyrinth stops draws only if a card specificly states "draw" like Brain Storm.

Anything that puts cards into your hand but doesnt say "Draw" like Jace, Architect of Thought or Steam Augury and in this instance: Pain Seer still get you card advatage

I think that having Hopeful Eidolon is way better then any 1 or 2 drop you're currently. Also i dont realy like the lifebane zombie either. Its great vs white and green(not as much) but only meh against others and a dead card against anything with black.

I'd put it in sideboard and side it in exchange of Herald of Torment when you play vs green/white creature heavy decks.

I think:

-1 Athreos, God of Passage +1 Hopeful Eidolon-2 Tormented Hero +2 Hopeful Eidolon-1 Soldier of the Pantheon +1 Hopeful Eidolon-4 Lifebane Zombie +4 Spirit of the Labyrinth

and sideboard

I'd add

+3 Dark Betrayal -1 Immortal Servitude -1 Deicide -1 Doomblade+4 Lifebane Zombie -4 Agent of Erebos

Blood Baron is OP when it is OP so its a great sideboard card even if its a 5 drop .... i dont know how to better explain why you should keep it there if you have the card anyways.

Agent of Erebos is a great sideboard card but not in standard format currently i think.

Immortal Servitude could be great but its very situational.

Nothing wrong with Deicide or Doom Blade but Dark Betrayal can make a win or loss against other black decks. I think this would be more consistent.

Lifebane Zombie is the best sideboard card imho, a 3/1 intimidate with a great ability vs green/white, when you side it in its a unblockable beater you can bestow upon.Having it in your sideboard instead of it beeing a dead card or well a worse Spirit of the Labyrinth without its ability and costing 1 more mana in certain match ups is a great idea in my opinion.

Ofcourse all of this is my opinion and maybe you dont like what i posted here, but use it as you will and best of luck to you!

This is already way more white than I wanted initially, but it is coming together quite nicely now, thanks to all who have contributed and plus'ed. I have decided (for now at least) that I will only replace SOTP with Hopeful Eidolon. For now SOTP stays, and Eidolon maybe as I playtest, FNM some with this deck. I will be getting all the cards besides the Mana Confluence within the next couple of weeks, and I should be getting the mana confluence not too long after that, so this deck is essentially complete, to match my meta. I have net-deckers that i assure you will be playing without the JIN add-ins until they see the new deck at mtg top 8 (little pride in self-creation I know). If this deck goes in guns a blazin', then I will post as such, or tell you of the changes I intend to make and subsequent results. Thanks again all for looking.

Agent of Erebos for control using Elixir of Immortality , and Deicide for thassa.

Agent of Erebos is great against control and dredge decks, but I'm not sure if he'll ever need to be a 4 of. Maybe 2 of and give yourself side board room to protect Athreos, God of Passage from Deicide . A couple options I think might work would be Gods Willing or Cartel Aristocrat as long as you never use Athreos without devotion.

I've been thinking of Cartel Aristocrat, and right now she won't be in. Again, I play at an FNM that by and large, mirrors net decks from MTG TOP 8 Grand Prix Winners etc. (minus MBD for some strange reason). So at least the first couple of FNMs I won't need to worry about people actually having the balls to play their own deck (feel the disdain?) until it actually wins at some major tournament.

April 24, 2014 9:52 p.m.

Agent of Erebos comes in as a 4 of sideboard, because guess what I'm going to see? Yep, you guessed it Esper and U/W control.

You may be completely correct about people at your spot not running Deicide yet, but it would take a complete idiot not to. Everybody already runs revoke existence on the side board to handle Thassa, and there really aren't any artifacts out there that would make revoke existence better than deicide. I really think it would be a good idea to protect Athreos from it.

April 25, 2014 2:13 a.m.

Oh of. Course I agree. I will put. In cartel aristocrat sideboard in like 3 weeks.

I'd suggest you cut out the Pain Seer altogether in favor of Eidolon of Countless Battles the double white is not bad my deck is a testament to this so dont underestimate your mana

April 25, 2014 2:17 p.m.

Jman361 says... #14

and cut a couple swamps in favor of plains

April 25, 2014 2:18 p.m.

No eidolon, I have a deck idea that is mostly white enchantments except for spashing for athreos with 4 ethereal armors, but no eidolon in this deck at all.

April 25, 2014 6:54 p.m.

I do like your deck though Jman361. I'm already more white than I wanted to be...

April 25, 2014 6:55 p.m.

I've been thinking of going 2 Obzedat, Ghost Council in place of Blood Baron of Vizkopa , thoughts? It would add devotion like crazy for athreos, only requiring one other creature to allow you to swing with athreos.and likely ozzy no problems

April 25, 2014 6:59 p.m.

Jman361 says... #18

In my case I have a habit of building future standard I still believe Pain Seer is redundant. I would be careful adding ghost daddy he may hit the field like a bomb but your curve is so low it might not work as well as you hope I get the feeling the deck would be much slower. As for Blood Baron of Vizkopa it's the same story he's just to slow I would use Desecration Demon instead.

April 26, 2014 2:59 a.m.

Morghaz says... #19

Already having Lord of the Feast you dont realy seem to need Desecration demon, i think blood baron and ghost council are not so great in this deck either, however if i pick 1 of them for the sideboard it would definately be blood baron as he can win you a game on his own. But it appears you dont have either anymore and i dont think you need either of them anyways lol

April 26, 2014 6:16 a.m.

I'd still try to add some Dark Betrayals in sideboard though against mirror matches and devotion to black decks.

April 26, 2014 6:18 a.m.

Deso or dark betrayal for deicide depending on how the meta plays out. Thanks again guys. If this steam rolls when I play it on the 8th I will let you guys know breakdowns.

April 26, 2014 10:46 p.m.

I've updated to take out Deicide for Spiteful Returned , I'm going to have fun with an all creature side board.

April 27, 2014 4:58 p.m.

I'll briefly explain sideboard use (or at least how i intend to have it):

Agent of Erebos : For use against Jund Aggro decks using creature graveyards for +'ing Nighthowler etcetera; counter Elixir of Immortality ; and a couple other matchups.

Cartel Aristocrat : For potentially countering Deicide .

Erebos, God of the Dead : For control match-ups; for life gain decks; and to replace 2 of Athreos, God of Passage to force Deicide use options, and to help cycle yet some more creatures.

Lifebane Zombie : For Gruul match-ups; for white weenie match-ups; for Jund aggro match-ups to combine with Agent of Erebos .

Spiteful Returned : This guy is going to be an anti-control mechanism with his bestow; for Pithing Needle sideboards to replace Athreos, God of Passage ; for anti-white cards like Glare of Heresy to replace aforementioned athreos and or Spirit of the Labyrinth ; I also think it might be a better bestow against hyper aggro if Spirit of the Labyrinth is simply not landing.
