Introduction

Welcome to my Kenrith list. The deck is a midrange combo deck, designed to be lethal around the turn 4 mark. The primary strategy of the deck is to get infinite mana and then win from there. The deck also sports a decent array of counterspells and removal until it can set up its win condition. Currently looking to transition it to run some more proactive stax pieces, so advice welcome in this area.

Setting up Infinite Mana

The deck runs multiple infinite mana loops:

• Emiel the Blessed + Dockside Extortionist - Requires you to generate at least 4 treasure tokens per loop

• Emiel the Blessed + Village Bell-Ringer + Mana Dorks - Requires your mana docrks to collectively generate 4 or more mana per loop

• Displacer Kitten + Eternal Witness + Lotus Petal

• Incubation Druid + Freed from the Real

• Bloom Tender + Freed from the Real - This line does not generate blue mana

• Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Dockside Extortionist + Freed from the Real - Requires you to generate at least 2 treasure tokens per loop

Win Conditions

Winning With Kenrith

Kenrith himself can provide the win condition for the deck, given infinite mana. There are a few lines, depending on whether the deck has assembled infinite mana separately to Kenrith or not.

Infinite mana assembled

If the deck has already assembled infinite mana, then Kenrith acts as the win condition:

• Use Kenrith's draw card ability to draw the deck, cast Silence and Cyclonic Rift and then force each opponent to deck themselves with Kenrith's draw card ability.

• Use Kenrith's +1/+1 counter ability to dump an arbitrarily large number of counters on at least 3 of our creatures, then give them haste and trample to deal lethal combat damage (generally the go-to win condition if your infinite mana comes from Bloom Tender).

• Use Thoughtpicker Witch to exile each opponent's library, making them lose on the draw.

Infinite mana hasn't been assembled

If the deck hasn't separately formed infinite mana, then there are still a few lines which form a win condition (and potentially infinite mana) in the process:

• Thoughtpicker Witch + Dockside Extortionist, sacrificing Extortionist and reanimating it with Kenrith's graveyard recursion ability. This combo requires Extortionist to generate at least 6 treasure tokens per loop.

• Thoughtpicker Witch + Village Bell-Ringer, sacrificing Bell-Ringer and reanimating it with Kenrith's graveyard recursion ability. Each loop requires you to generate at least {5}{B} per loop.

Comboing without Kenrith

If for whatever reason the deck loses access to Kenrith, then there is still an infinite mana outlet in the form of Emiel the Blessed + Eternal Witness + any card draw/tutor to hand effect. From here, the deck can use the following:

• Thoughtpicker Witch to exile each opponent's library.

• Swan Song + any instant/sorcery to generate infinite 2/2 flying tokens.

• Assassin's Trophy to destroy all permanents your opponents control. While this isn't a win condition, it provides an opening for lethal (albeit slow) combat damage.

Additioanlly, there is a combat line in the form of Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Village Bell-Ringer which makes infinite 1/4 tokens with haste.

Yisan Stuff

As most of the combos in the deck are almost entirely creature based, the deck runs Yisan, the Wanderer Bard who can deploy multiple combos without much in the way of additional requirements.

Assuming we have Kenrith in play, the most straightforward combo in the deck is to fetch:

• Verse 1: Thoughtpicker Witch

• Verse 2: Dockside Extortionist

With Kenrith in play and being able to generate 6 or more treasure tokens, we can exile each opponent's library.

Without Kenrith in play, we can still deploy a combo line over three turns:

• Verse 1: Any mana dork that can produce green (Typically Birds of Paradise)

• Verse 2: Biomancer's Familiar

• Verse 3: Village Bell-Ringer (from here we can untap Yisan to perform the rest of the tutors in the same turn)

• Verse 4: Emiel the Blessed, paying 1 and flickering Village Bell-Ringer)

• Verse 5: Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker

At this point we can create infinite copies of Bell-Ringer with Kiki-Jiki with haste. Since we have a mana dork in play, we are also able to generate infinite mana during this process.

We can also use a mana dork elf at 1, Priest of Titania at 2 and Displacer Kitten (with an additional non-creature spell) at 4 if we lose access to certain parts of the combo.

Other Stuff

This deck isn't fishy

One of the things you'll notice about this list is that it's not running Thassa's Oracle + Demonic Consultation/Tainted Pact as a win condition. This is primarily because I wanted to keep the deck focused around making infinite mana and using Kenrith as an outlet.

While I understand that Thassa's Oracle is one of the most efficient and compact win conditions in cEDH, I personally find it a bit dull and so have opted not to include it.

It is worth mentioning that while this is a competitive deck, it is still not tuned for the most competitive of play (i.e. against all the turn 2 combo decks) and is designed to handle a slightly creature heavier meta. When taking into this space, I would recommend swapping in the Thassa's Oracle lines, as well as reconfiguring the couterspell package.
