The reason for Thing in the Ice  ^Flip is that it's more difficult to remove (black removal will kill it) and is synergistic with the spells strategy. Young Pyro is synergistic, but easier to kill and isn't the same level of threat, particularly if the Royal Scions are on the field. In some ways if you don't have the Things then it might make sense to run two more Crackling Drake and maybe Stormchaser Mage / Flamewake Phoenix or two more Fiery Temper.

Darth_Savage You're right about TiTi. Young Pyro as an inclusion was largely a result of me playing too aggressively with TiTi, which led to poor lines of play involving Thing bouncing a Phoenix or three back to my hand on turn 4, or Thing just getting Pushed immediately. After a discussion with a much more experienced friend, he showed me that I was just playing TiTi without any regard for opponent interaction. With a more measured approach to tempo, I think I can learn to pilot this deck much better. Thank you!
