Just saying, this deck could loose out to stuff like Chimney Imp . You could counter this with your own Chimney Imp , but a boosted Aven Trooper could still take it out. It looks like Razor Boomerang could be your best bet. Even then, you may see some competition against people who know how to properly combat the Storm Crow in your sideboard. Splashing black for One with Nothing or sticking a Sky Swallower in the sideboard may solve these issues.

@hiddero: I'm sure there are. Just look at vintage/legacy events. (I forget which, but one of those formats has the power nine banned and the other doesn't)

@PegasusBishop: chump block for days! With Storm Crow of course. Which is part of the win condition with storm crow.

Finally had time to reply to everything that's been happening lately.

This is great haha. Perhaps we could get a pool going in order to purchase a fraction of those black lotuses.

I can see that you are on a tight budget, but I would recommend replacing Black Lotus with FOIL versions of Black Lotus .

Unfortunately, foil cards weren't introduced until Urza's Legacy.

February 19, 2014 5:15 p.m.

Hmmm... that's a problem.

February 19, 2014 9 p.m.

I'm sure it will drop the price, though, since all of them would be fake.

Or you could just rip some foil off your useless foil Tarmogoyf and tape them onto your Black Lotus

February 20, 2014 10:35 p.m.

Too risky, with the tape I'd fear a judge calling me on marked cards.

Trouble is that you can only do up to 17 damage on turn one, then you need to wait at least 2 more turns for enough mana to finish off your opponent. And waiting is boring.

@xlaleclx I loled so hard at that Shock post, that is so amazing... like this deck, coincidentally.

I stand corrected on the foil Black Lotus .

A couple years ago, they printed very few of them for the artist to sign.

March 3, 2014 2:20 a.m.

well, on the plus side, it has a great mana curve...

If you replace all the Fireball s with Battle of Wits is very consistent. But that's no fun is it?

I know this seems a bit sketchy, but definitely run the full 600 of either Eager Cadet or Sanctuary Cat , personally i think cats are lame. Go with the cadets.
