4c Bring to Light
Scapeshift
, the goal of this deck is similar to any
Scapeshift
deck, to win with Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle. This deck though, has extra utility by playing Bring to Light and splashing extra colors to make converge Bring to Light=scaeshift work.
Card choices:
Ramp: The standard ramp spells of Sakura-Tribe Elder, Search for Tomorrow and Farseek
Control: Crytpic command, Remand and Repeal are utility/counterspells and you have Path to Exile and Supreme Verdict for some removal
Filter/draw: Sadly there arn't very many spots solely for this, but you play
Worldly Counsel
which is good, and Remand and Repeal draw you cards
Other Cards: Bring to Light and
Scapeshift
are for the combo, but you can fetch out cards other than
Scapeshift
with Bring to Light, as well as one Snapcaster Mage for utility
Lands: Well this is the most important part of the deck, you have Valakut, the molten pinacle to win and Temple of Mystery for filtering, otherwise just mana
Sideboard, and what cards to bring in when:*Note: You play so many one-of's in the sideboard because you can fetch them out with Bring to Light
Anger of the Gods: Good against dredge, as well as creature-based decks (jund, abzan, possibly affinity)Crumble to Dust: Tron (and i guess maybe the mirror, but probably not)Grafdigger's Cage: Dredge, as well as Abzan company and other Chord of Calling/Collected Company decks, or any other graveyard-based deck (does anyone still play Living End?)
Obstinate Baloth

How to play the deck:Normally you will want to keep a hand with ramp and removal of some sort for the current meta, ramp is the most important part in most match-ups though. Watch out for Blood Moon decks though, because your only answer to them g1 is the one Repeal. You can take a considerable amount of damage, but be careful of all in swings, and save the limited removal for them. With your fetches, I would recommend fetching out basics, mostly your islands for Cryptic Command, and avoid fetching too many mountains so your
Scapeshift
can still win Otherwise, just survive until you get 7+ land on the battlefield and
Scapeshift
to a win.
