Protean Hulk [3] Birthing Pod [2] Umezawa's Jitte [2] Vampiric Tutor [2] Stoneforge Mystic [1]

4 Color no blue aristocrats deck making the mana somehow more miserable in order to play Hermit Druid and adding in the Academy Rector + Pattern of Rebirth for Protean Hulk combo both as ways to win the game on the spot.

To win with Hermit Druid , fetch out the Snow-Covered Forest , then activate Hermit Druid , milling the entire library. Cast Lingering Souls , then sacrifice Hermit Druid + the Lingering Souls tokens to flashback Dread Return , targeting Reveillark . Sacrifice Reveillark to Cabal Therapy targeting Viscera Seeer and Karmic Guide with the triggers, picking back up Reveillark with the Karmic Guide trigger. Sacrifice Reveillark to Viscera Seer for Saffi Eriksdotter and Zuluport Cutthroat. Sacrifice Saffi Eriksdotter to her ability, targeting Karmic Guide , then sacrifice Karmic Guide . It returns, pick back up Reveillark . Sacrifice Reveillark for Karmic Guide + Saffi Eriksdotter , and this is a loop, which can be made less click intensive or can beat something weird like Ashes of the Abhorrent by grabbing Cruel Celebrant and Blood Artist . Effects like Gideon of the Trials emblem or Worship lose to adding Murderous Redcap into the loop. We also gain infinite life, but with an empty library and infinite damage and an infinitely large board (using Voice of Resurgence , in particular) this probably doesn't matter too much. Winning with this requires that you have 1{G}{B}, or {G} and 2 other creatures.

The Protean Hulk combos function similarly to the combo above, except they have to grab cards from the library by looping Protean Hulk triggers, which can be done using Saffi Eriksdotter similarly to double-dip on Karmic Guide triggers. This also makes the infinite life and infinite Voice of Resurgence tokens a more realistic way to deal with anything weird that may happen. The easiest setup for this is Academy Rector , a sacrifice outlet like Viscera Seer , and any other creature. Academy Rector finds Pattern of Rebirth , which attaches to the other creature, which we sacrifice to find Protean Hulk , which we sacrifice to combo.

This deck also has the simpler Protean Hulk pile of Vizier of Remedies or Melira, Sylvok Outcast + Blood Artist + Carrion Feeder + Putrid Goblin or Murderous Redcap or Kitchen Finks . This requires that at least one piece is already in play, but has the advantage of only needing one Protean Hulk loop to kill. If enough of the pieces are in play, you can also grab Saffi Eriksdotter for protection.

Behind each of these combos there's just a somewhat worse aristocrats shell, with a lot of cards that can enable us oopsing into a combo. We're playing a smaller number of tutors than most pattern rector lists, relying on that gameplan to carry us through games when we can't find access to a way to win, and to stall boards to buy time to get there. This also allows us to play a much larger suite of creature interaction than most pattern rector decks, with about 8 ways to just deal with a problem, usually permanently. This is because our creatures do kinda suck and we don't have gems like Palace Jailer to fix any and every problem.

A lot of our combo cards also have better floors in this deck than they do in most pattern rector lists. Getting to usually pick back up anything with Karmic Guide and Reveillark and getting value out of sacrificing our stuff with Saffi Eriksdotter makes them less embarrassing of cards to cast if they get stuck in our hand. Notably we're lacking ways to get them out of our hand other than casting them and Collective Brutality , and I haven't figured out all of the lines to win in that case. The alternate Protean Hulk line that kills using persist creatures is the easiest way it seems.

Anyways I'm much more familiar with hulk than with aristocrats, so if there's anything important involving that side of the deck that I might be missing I'd be happy to hear it. Otherwise, if there's any feedback about how the combos work or cards I'm missing or am playing and really shouldn't be, or anything else comments are appreciated. Thanks a ton! <3 CalliopeVerhart
