Worldspine Wurm?

November 13, 2012 9:31 p.m.

I like the Wurm, but I don't really know about it here; a good wrath deterrent, but there's not enough ramp to get it online consistently in this build I feel like. Strip out some control elements for ramp though and you should be set.

nice theme, +1 from me. I feel like a few artifacts (Erratic Portal , Caged Sun ) make a lot of sense playwise but would be rather hard to find in the woods though. Switch CS for Mana Reflection maybe?

I think you should run a Lure . It seems to fit flavor, and works well for evasion, and combos with the numerous deathtouch-ers - especially Tangle Asp .

Completely right on needing a Lure effect, I just didn't like Lure. Looking through alternatives I found Shine of Life's Roar which seems very promising. I'm also going to try some more draw in the deck, first up is Heartwood Storyteller to test. Thanks for the feedback!

Decided to try out Mind's Eye instead. Not sure what I was thinking there :p.

Woodfall Primus works as another Acidic Slime

Master of the Wild Hunt gives tokens for nothing and doubles for removal.

I don't really like Plow Under, it's unwieldy, expensive, and slow. If it were a creature I would consider it, but at it's cost I would rather try and get Desert Twister back in the line-up.

Primus is in. MotWH is definitely interesting, but I'm going Acorn Catapult for right now.

Given your E.T.B. creatures, what about card:Conjurer's Closet?I had a guy pick off my key threats with an Acidic Slime using this, until I finally found an answer for his Closet (he had enough return to hand or battlefield effects, that killing it didn't help.)

January 8, 2013 12:53 p.m.

Man, Closet is a card I waffle on so often, but I think you're right, it's value potential is too high. I'll drop Orrery for it, that's a card that I often find sitting around doing nothing.

I assume you know you have 4 illegal cards? Do the people you play with just not care, or were they just put into the illegal list? I love the deck concept, and want to make a variant of it, just not with any illegals.

January 25, 2013 2:49 p.m.

What illegal cards? This is all built in accordance with the official ban list presented by the rules committee. If you have some kind of local ban on certain cards I'm running though, I'd be happy to suggest alternatives. If you're referring to the Gastecrash cards, they are legal as of pre-release so that shouldn't be a concern.

January 25, 2013 3:37 p.m.

Ah, GTC cards WERE what you were referring too, just noticed that on the side menu ;) Like I said, no worry, it's just tappedout being slightly incorrect.

Ah, I realize this now, I do still like your deck... Not a fan of the price it'd take to build a "just for kicks" deck, but still right up my ally.

You can add Genesis Wave for finishing move. +1

+1. There's a lot I like here. The creature base has some great economic choices, my favorites being Wasteland Viper and Shinen of Life's Roar . I'm probably going to borrow some of them, cause I'm looking for some extra value and a lower curve in my own design.

I also like the Instant and Sorcery package. It's intriguing to see how people come up with ways to get consistent removal in green. Deathtouch is a nice idea.

I have a few more thoughts and comments, so I'll try to keep them brief:

a) Lands. I'm really not quite understanding the rationale behind uncounterable lands like Boseiju and Cavern. Is this a metagame choice? Also, why no Scrying Sheets ?

b) I agree with your assessment of "GoodStuff," but I don't think it has to be that way if you don't want it to. Some people don't find the GoodStuff label to be a problem. I'm sort of with them, but we have to find a balance between power and "creativity." There's a reason we love Swords and Jittes and Crucibles and all these other cards that are generally acceptable as "auto-includes." They're better than others. Still, we have to know how to maximize their value too.

I think this deck could benefit from tinkering with the Artifacts and Enchantments. That's where I'd start anyway.

I don't know how much you like to look at other lists, but if you're interested, this is my version- Yeva's Mono-Green Flash Mob. Maybe you'll find some ideas, maybe you'll have some for me.

August 16, 2013 4:21 p.m.

Wasteland Viper is a terrific creature, his Bloodrush can blow the bottom out combats in wicked ways, probably my favorite card featuring the mechanic.

Yeah, the lands are a result of metagame, sitting down to a table where at least two people aren't running Islands is a fairly rare occurrence for me, so being able to force a play through counters comes in handy. Scrying Sheets has been in the deck before but as the list evolved it just felt less and less effective, I often had other things I preferred to spend my open mana on and eventually other lands I preferred to see in Sheets spot. I've been tempted from time to time to add it back but never can seem to find the space. If only it offered true Scry :(.

I really don't have any problem with the "goodstuff" label, it's evolved naturally to that point as this went from a fun side-project to being one of my most played lists. I also feel that the spirit I set out creating it with is intact, and that was to create a green deck that plays more like a blue deck. I still use that maxim in evaluating cards, tuning, and playing.

I'll certainly take a look at your list. How would you suggest altering the artifacts/enchantments package?

August 20, 2013 4:51 p.m.

Yeah. I totally understand. One of the reasons I like Yeva is because she provides an extra flexible dimension most green decks don't have.

And I totally get function cuts like Scrying Sheets. If you're not using it, you gotta lose it. It's really nice to hear people building decks based on how they play them, not just "what's good." This is something that I noticed also separates this deck straight up from "GoodStuff" to me too.

My idea with the re-tooling of the artifacts and enchantments is kind of an overhaul. As you've seen, I like Sylvan Library and Helm. I also like Effigy and Survival.

The rest, to me, is space for potential cuts. I'm not sure if or what you might want to add, but I think dudes like Craterhoof Behemoth , Regal Force , and Seedborn Muse might be pretty sweet. Nature's Will looks and sounds like a nice plan too, considering what you've told me about your meta. grabbing that tempo for a counter-free second main would be nice.

I know in the original design of my deck, YouGotFranked was playing Arboria . My playgroup doesn't really like to draw out games because we only get to play so much time to play at our game store, but it might "out-pressure" blue players. I've found the key to getting in a blue player's head, even good ones, is to force them to play around what they wouldn't expect. This is a card I could see giving them headaches. You've got the dudes to keep you from missing land drops too. You might even want to consider an extra. Something like Budoka Gardener that gives you a little more value in the later turns.

You could also consider Xantid Swarm . It's a little cheeky, but it's low-curve, and it gives you more consistency if you're looking for places to lock down spells. Quicksilver Amulet 's been good to me, and I think AEther Vial might be pretty hot tech for you. Your creature curve is nice enough to support it, and if you can squeeze into the 35+ dude range, it can be even more relevant. If you play Vial, I can also see a reason to keep Top as well.

I'll try to come up with a few more suggestions. The territory's a weird conditional situation. The last thing I want to see is to suggest a bunch of stuff I'm playing, cause we don't need to play the same stuff, and we shouldn't. Still, I think having a few more guys and some swapped tech will do us both good.

If you continue to keep your guys smaller, I'd say Swords/Jitte are a lot more necessary. As they get bigger, you probably just want more threats that are dudes. I do think Craterhoof is a good pick for this though, regardless. It's a game ender, if you need another.

There's just a bunch of stuff I could see you doing and it'd be awesome. Lemme know what you like and I'll try to focus my suggestions better.
