More than the key rune i think that Satyr Hedonist could be a nice addition, as it'll allow you instant (if tempory) ramp, from turn 3 (played t2) which in theory leaves you with manna to spend on Elvish Mystic or if you've played one, leave you with two mana to do with as you wish (Sylvan Caryatid anyone?) or pump into Frenzied Tilling early!!

I think he'll give you the ramp needed to stay ahead of other ramping decks, and also to get in earlyer land destuction to stay ahead of fast paced aggro decks, and endless land filled control decks

This deck would not fair well against aggro my friend

Against anything containing red it fairs quite well. As discussed previously in the comments deleted. It has a great defender Sylvan Caryatid that can be out turn 2. I have some early small removal. Xenagos, The Reveler turn 3 can create endless blockers. And the real kicker for those containing red is Peak Eruption losing your first land on my turn 2 wont help aggro get anywhere. Then turn 3 I play another and another... I understand there are answers for that and aggro can be fast but so can this. Its going to all depend on who draws their perfect hand. As any other match-ups.

I'm thinking of replacing Polukranos, World Eater with Voyaging Satyr just to ensure the mana dorks. So far i've had alot of luck with it. And you don't really need the two Polukranos, World Eater when you can ensure the ramping. Or that's what it seems like.

Then i only have 2 Encroaching Wastes and 4 Frenzied Tilling because you need to tap the same about of mana to cast both. But can take all lands and gives you 1 extra mana where Encroaching Wastes removes a land.

Destroy the Evidence still seems like a nice card. just gotta figure out if it's playable. What's your thoughts?

i was thinking of putting in Voyaging Satyr in my version but i didnt know what to take out cuz i needed more ramp and i think polukranos is a good idea cuz i never relay use him.

had you had any thought on Satyr Hedonist ?
he seem's like a good early game/cheap aggressor, and a vital instant 2 mana ramp, early or mid game to get you ahead of other ramp and even earlier land destruction with spare mana to ramp (best case senario, T1 mystic, T2 hedonist, T3 demolish AND sylvan carytid)

This so good I'm debating trading into this deck. xD

Encroaching Wastes is mostly a land. That later I use to keep the land gone once I already have modest control of the board. But 2 more of Frenzied Tilling might be a good idea if you have guaranteed ramp with Voyaging Satyr and Satyr Hedonist .

What about Zhur-Taa Druid for a mana dork instead of Voyaging Satyr ? Only a 1/1, but doing damage when you tap it could be nice.

Not a bad suggestion. But Zhur-Taa Druid only produces green so its a give and take.

Don't forget that Voyaging Satyr untaps Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx ! :D

I played vs a deck with a ton of hate and it tore me apart, turn 2 doom blade my mystic, turn 3 away, so my turn 3 I had 3 nana if I drew a land. I got hosed 6 out of 6 games ... Ugh!

dizzzyme, it seems like you just had a ton of bad luck. I used this same setup against a hate deck and did 6-4 (out of ten games). The way I had to play it was mulligan and/or hope for a hand that had an Elvish Mystic and a Sylvan Caryatid in it. even with one land in that hand I kept it because I needed to have that Sylvan Caryatid out as soon as possible. from there I kept him at no more than three lands so the most he can do was get rid of Elvish Mystic at best. From there just Demolish and Bramblecrush him to keep control and the board free. once I had enough mana base I would play Xenagos, The Reveler and +1 him to drop an Ember Swallower . Next turn, monstrous. then I had him from there. But again hate decks I just think you need to play very slow, only bringing things out when it best seems to fit what you think he has in his hand. also, trying to weed out those doom blades with puny elvish.

@EmperorRancor, have you though about putting Burning Earth in vs control and leaving them one land on the table? once you have a few creatures and xenagos, you never really have to tap dual lands. and they aren't running many things at a low cmc that can attack you for damage.

November 13, 2013 2:26 p.m.

EmperorRancor says... #16

It really just seems it would slow it down. Why would they tap that land? And why wouldn't I just destroy it. I don't want them to drop a 2nd land and actually do something and have to deal with it. I feel it just hurts me and there's much better 4 drops in here. besides it hurts Encroaching Wastes as well. I may have more non-basic lands then most other dual color decks.

i love the idea...always wanted to make a land destruction deck...+1 from me

logan700 says... #18

@EmperorRancor, for some reason I thought it was a 2 drop... nvm then :P

I like the idea alot. I made this deck, just waiting on a couple cards, but I'm thinking of removing Polukranos, World Eater and putting in 2x Voyaging Satyr . Play testing with the Voyaging Satyr seems to work very well.

I had a similar idea, run blue/green/red I the idea would be more contol based rather than hate and agro, with frenzied tilling coming back and urban evolution and cyclonic rift and maybe a few counters at this point im just trying things to see how it works because of the big event coming up I'm gonna be thatb ass playing land d. Also I think the blue green and red black keyrunes are pretty nice, maybe toy with those too

Black blue and green blue I mean

EmperorRancor says... #21

I think the guaranteed ramp does make it more consistent and theres always a dragon and Ember Swallower out. If I can get the land D going I'd hope that it wouldn't matter to need more big creatures.

Now with the even more ramp should I drop 2 Lightning Strike s for 2 Frenzied Tilling ? Since getting it off turn 3 or 4 is pretty easy.

DjinnjerVitis says... #23

i liked the inclusion of lightning bolt. i think 4 frenied tilling is overkilljust my two cents. nice list.

Maybe Gyre Sage over Voyaging Satyr .

I am having pretty good results with Flames of the Firebrand . It's a great card to sweep away aggro whilst not harming your own early game board as Anger of the Gods does.
