Fall of the Hammer does the same as Fling if you don't have it, and is even more budget friendly

Fall of the Hammer can't target players.

Yeah. Fall of the Hammer is kind of pointless

Looks like a ton of fun. Might try this at a Modern night this summer at my LGS

I know you put Flame Slash in there to act as removal, but have you thought about Bolt? Same mana, one less damage, but instant. Although, obviously, you're trying to keep it pretty budgeted, hence no shocklands or anything else. I like it, though. Seems really fast. Good job!

Not sure how you can get 8 cards turn 3, but I still love the potential of this deck. :) I had issues with mulliganing this deck since there are only 8 creatures so, I made my own version with Satyr Hoplite. I'm still testing it out, so please let me what you think!

It's actually easy cause you just pay life for spells, essentially casting them for free

nice deck. I like the page, but the purple can be a little difficult to read. definite +1.

Ah yeah I don't know how to change the purple lol . Still looks ok though

Maybe you could help?

I see lots of effects that result in the loss of your life, but nothing to gain. Does that ever pose a problem? If so, maybe add a life link critter/ combat trick to compensate for the loss.

No +1 until i get the code for a funky backgound and colorful letter... J/K. Looks great.

Yeah I know. Those would make it more consistent, but they're a bit expensive. I'm considering making a non-budget version

Hi I loved your deck, but found myself without creatures to play many times on the first turns when I playtested it.

Would you consider Blistercoil Weird to be part of the deck? Or the famous Nivmagus Elemental? I think these would still fit in as budget, right?

All the best,Thunder

Flyers167 says... #16

Yeah, I actually find 8 creatures to be good, but nivmagus elemental is great. I think I'll consider him

May 24, 2015 8:31 a.m.

Flyers167 says... #17

I've looked at him and after a bit of play testing, he doesn't work nearly as well, as you can't get the buffs from the cards, so maybe a 2 of.

May 24, 2015 8:37 a.m.

Flyers167 says... #18

And the budget problem... Although he could work along with kiln fiend as an extra attacker

MTGThunder says... #19

LOL I was playtesting it again and suddenly I see Nivmagus Elemental, guess you just changed it.

Flyers167 says... #20

Yeah I put it in to playtest lol

Cam't you just make it a pauper deck

May 24, 2015 10:17 a.m.

Flyers167 says... #22

Wow Didn't realize that love Stubborn Denial though. I guess I could, but it would really limit some things

May 24, 2015 10:20 a.m.

If you switch to Pauper, Spell Pierce is a common that could replace Stubborn Denial. It increases the price, but not much.

Flyers167 says... #24

Well, that would be almost 10$, but I might be able to work something out
