Huh? I mean the deck has eight Chancellors in it. What were you thinking?

I dunno, I like the chancellors. The 'free mini-spell' if you get a draw is cool, though there's often a very big gap between that and when you can actually cast such a mana-hungry behemoth. Having a big lugnut sitting uselessly in your hand for seven-odd turns is definitely something of a deterrent, but why wait that long? Once you've cashed in your chancellor's ability, you're free to discard it for something else... including, hopefully, a reanimation spell!

A quick Chancellor of the Annex can finish your opponent off in short order: functionally having Ward can be a real impediment in the earliest turns of the game, though it also slows down your opponent's development even if he's not targeting the chancellor. Even if he can pay the extra , a Spell Pierce can still take him out at the knees. Chancellor of the Dross can take a foe out in three hits, assuming you get the hit from the opening hand. The life you gain also lets you throw a little more around to Underground River, Watery Grave and Reanimate.
