you really don't need all these 1-mana instants if all you need is one of them on Elite Arcanist to do an infinite with the other guys.

i think some scry lands and card draw would make this more possible because right now it isn't likely you'll actually get all three cards to make the combo

Thanks! I updated the deck a bit to house a few more infinite combos. It's still a work in progress, but here's the question to everyone:

Using infinite mana, what card would you like to see in here?

A Mistcutter Hydra ! be like infinite power and toughness!

Hmmm, the combos with Elite Arcanist + Triton Tactics + any untap/ mana dork aren't infinite mana unless I am missing something. You may have misunderstood how Elite Arcanist works, You have to pay the cost of the spell each time you tap him to cast it. This means: Tap dork, tap arcanist + pay 1 mana to untap dork and arcanist. there is no gain here other than untapping the things you used to tap them. The Zhur-Taa Druid works due to the damage on the tap, As well the double Kiora's Follower would require 2 Illusionist's Bracers to gain any bonus. If i am wrong please explain the process as I would love to know.

I don't see how 2 Ral Zareks go infinite.

February 5, 2014 9:58 p.m.

Noobe says... #9

It would go infinite if the Planeswalker Rule didn't exist.

Skimm3r says... #10

You can't have two planeswalkers on the battlefiled if they share the same type, like Ral Zarek 's is "Ral". So, it would be a combo... but they're legendary, so you can't have both of them out at the same time to pull it off.

In any case, 5 combo's in a standard deck, which still has synergy between all of the cards individually is impresive... +1.

I'll address these in order.

@MexicanPenguin

Added to sideboard!

@Noobe

The Elite Arcanist + Triton Tactics requires the use of the Zhur-Taa Druid in order to be its own infinite combo. The way that one works is you exile triton tactics with the arcanist, tap the druid for one mana, pinging them one, using the mana to activate elite arcanist's exiled ability to untap himself and zhur-taa druid, then repeat to infinity.

The double Kiora's Follower only requires one Illusionist's Bracers . Here's how it works. KF1 has the bracers. KF2 is unequipped. You tap KF2 and something else (usually a land or Codex Shredder ), then use KF1 to trigger two untap events and untap both of those things. KF2 can now untap KF1 again and the cycle repeats to infinity.

@raithe000 and Skimm3r:The Ral Zarek "infinite combo" relies on getting him to 7, using the ability to get extra turns (you need at least 4/5 for it to work), dropping a new Ral Zarek the same turn or on the first extra turn and so on and so forth. It wins the game if it happens, unless you play bad.

Thanks for all the comments and +1's gentlemen!

That requires adding in white, and increases the average CMC, effectively slowing it down

Dude this is amazing. Kudos for coming up with this. I am definitely making my own version probably with more draw power. Also have you thought about Scourge of Skola Vale ? With Triton Tactics infinitely cast you could then sac your creature for lots of counters and trample in for the kill. +1+1+1

I'm not seeing how Elite Arcanist + Kiora's Follower + Triton Tactics + a land does anything but just untap themselves in an infinite cycle, because you'd need to keep using the land you untap to fuel the untap process, right?

So, tap a land for 1 mana, untap it using Kiora, spend the 1 mana to use the Arcanist to cast Triton Tactics, untapping the Arcanist and Kiora. Now they're all untapped again but you don't have the extra 1 mana because you had to use it to untap the Arcanist and Kiora. What am I missing?

+1 for infinite rage. This is amazing, can't wait to piss off my friends with this. xD

February 7, 2014 2:47 p.m.

mattbl the combo is: exile triton tactics to elite arcanist with kioras follower and Zhur-Taa Druid on the battlefield. Tap druid for mana dealing 1 dmg to opponent. Use his floating mana to use arcanists ability to untap both druid and arcanist. Rinse and repeat for infinite damage. Kioras follower is part of a combo with illusionists bracers.

I get the damage combo. I'm not seeing the infinite untap/mana combo with those specific three I mentioned.

February 8, 2014 7:56 a.m.

Drfrozenfire says... #21

@matt

With that one, you tap a land for mana. Then untap that land, and tap it for another mana. With one of the two floating mana, pay for the exiled copy of triton tactics, and each time you cycle through this you pick up another mana, an infinite number of times. I hope that clarifies!

I just heard the theme from Inception when I opened this deck page...

Good idea, well executed. +1 from me!

mattbl says... #23

drfrozenfire: Except at the end of that cycle the land is now tapped, and you have 1 floating mana, which is where you'd be without any of the untap stuff... 1 tapped land and 1 floating mana.

It's an infinite cycle but all it does is generate the 1 mana needed to untap itself, you never actually net an extra mana out of it. It works exactly the same as with the druid, but the druid generates 1 damage when it is tapped so it does infinite damage (but not infinite mana).

Don't get me wrong, the other combos are awesome, but I think this one should be taken out because it doesn't really do anything as far as I can see.

February 9, 2014 9:46 a.m.

Drfrozenfire says... #24

No, you're missing it man. You do pick up one extra mana each time. Here is how it works.

  1. Tap two land for mana, two mana floating.

  2. Tap kiora's follower that had illusionist bracers to untap the lands.

  3. Tap the lands to float another two mana, four mana floating.

  4. Use one floating mana to activate elite arcanist's exiled triton tactics, untapping himself and kiora's follower. Three mana floating.

  5. Repeat.

mattbl says... #25

Oh, well with Illusionist's Bracers it works. The 2nd combo you list in your deck description doesn't say you have the bracers, so that's the one I was talking about. It doesn't work without the bracers.
