Dispatch is a one shot so I'm not feeling that. However the rest seem good except maybe Lim-Dul's Vault only because I need recurable benefits. Thanks for the assistance @ nobu_the_bard

By the way, you might want to reread those lands, see if you missed something, because the only swamp you have is Watery Grave but you included a Tainted Field , so you will rarely be able to tap it for colored mana. You should try to include at least one or two basic swamps so you can search them out with your land tutors or if you are hit by something like Path to Exile .

There's actually supposed to be 4 basic swamps in here so thanks for the catch.

This is fairly budget right? So no Guardian Beast s or Transmute Artifact s and the like?
February 4, 2014 10:10 p.m.
Definitely budgetish. I can afford to spend a little money on it but don't need it to be super competetive or anything. This is just for playing with friends.

Ok. So then is an infinite combo something you want? I know my casual playgroup doesn't like it. Just asking to refine my suggestions...
February 4, 2014 10:37 p.m.
I would rather avoid infinite combos. Aside from the one we already put in it of course.

@Unforgivn_II ~ nobu_the_bard helped me a little with some basic concept stuff. Do you have any suggestions for cards that should come out/go in? I also have slots to fill as I cut all the lifegain stuff from when it was gonna be an oloro deck.

As it turns out, I'm better at shooting ideas down than suggesting things. Mainly because I don't want to impose my will upon your deck (otherwise it would be a copy of mine). However, what I will suggest is Staff of Nin . Its good on its own, and with Sydri it becomes "Tap: destroy target creature. You gain one life" That's very good, and with the extra draw, you can't not include it.
But anyway, I can help cut the fat, but you'll probably need to fill in the gaps. You know your meta and budget the best, you know what will be most effective and affordable. So I'll comment again with cards that I would cut and why.

Thanks Unforgivn_II. Really appreciate it. The staff is a great idea.

Caltrops is always fun with Sydri. They swing, animate and deathtouch it up.

No problem, I've been meaning to get one for my own deck.

Actually, before I say what to take out, here are a few things I have in my build that will fit the general goodstuff deck.
Hanna, Ship's Navigator
Karn, Silver Golem
(never know when you'll need another animator)
Argivian Archaeologist
(not super budget, but wont break the bank either)
Vedalken Orrery
Unwinding Clock

Unforgivn_II ~ thanks for those recommendations. They all seem good and are not overly expensive. Exactly what I was looking for. Repeatable effects are great for this deck.

Sharding Sphinx is another I forgot to suggest. I had one out with a Bident of Thassa once, and I had a good time. Anyway, on to cuts
AEtherling - Beaters are typically not great in EDH. Mix in that he isn't even an artifact, and he just doesn't do much for this deck.
Dimir Doppelganger , Quicksilver Elemental - I'll pair these together. If copying is something you really want, Clone is probably a better choice. The biggest knock is that these aren't artifacts either. Not everything needs to be an artifact here. But if it isn't one, it had better be special.
Assert Authority - Why play a wannabe Counterspell when you can actually play Counterspell ? If you really want exiling, roll with Dissipate .
Gideon, Champion of Justice - He's mainly just a beater. Its not like he's bad, he just doesn't do anything special (they can just recast their commander as a blocker if he ultimates. So his best attribute is just not good in EDH)
Sorin, Lord of Innistrad - His abilities just aren't scary in EDH. But they aren't terrible either. I only list him here because he doesn't synergize with the deck. That said, he would be a cut later down the road because at the moment, pumping out blockers is fine.
Azorius Cluestone , Dimir Cluestone , Orzhov Cluestone - These are all outclassed by their Signet counterparts. Azorius Signet , etc. They don't have the draw ability, but they're faster and better at fixing (ie: having all swamps but still casting Sydri easily)
Elixir of Immortality - If you have a buddy who plays mill, go ahead and keep this in. Otherwise, the 5 life is marginal and reshuffling your grave doesn't mean you'll even see any of the cards you shuffled back.
Ornate Kanzashi - This just isn't good. If you like the ability, play Daxos of Meletis or Nightveil Specter . If you want a big artifact body, theres a ton. The only way this is remotely playable is with JTMS or cards with th Fateseal ability.

Made some changes @ Unforgivn_II. I was questioning some of the cards you mentioned already so that was just the nail in the coffin so to speak. What do you think of the updated list?

I like the Master Transmuter addition. I forgot about her. I also forgot about Arcum Dagsson . But it looks pretty good now. It should be good without being overly oppressive. Well done

Thanks Unforgivn_II ~ it's just proxied for the time being because I don't have all the cards. I only had to proxy like 7 though (including a Dimir Signet . Lol). I just don't wanna drop the money for the ones I'm missing if the deck didn't work. And honestly I think I need to invest in the land base a little more.

The land is where the big money is. But there are always cheap alternatives. Pain lands like Caves of Koilos , slow fetches like Bad River , the weird filter lands like Skycloud Expanse (although those dont have a full cycle), Arcane Sanctum , Command Tower , Guildgates, and Temples are all moderately cheap, and are almost always better than basics. Although a couple basics should be played, because of things like Path to Exile and such.

Isn't Karn, Silver Golem a bit redundant with your commander?
March 17, 2014 9:16 p.m.
@J0eJ0eJ0e ~ he's back up in case sydri gets tucked. As I can't tutor for her as easily as I can him. Plus if I have Mycosynth Golem in play karn hits the field for free and can start animating what ever I need. Good question though. Its one that i have considered on many occasions but always end up keeping. Any other thoughts?

Hey another cool infinite mana combo is Power Artifact with either Grim Monolith or Basalt Monolith . And I think all of those cards are useful outside of the combo.
nobu_the_bard says... #1
Consider the signets instead of the cluestones: Orzhov Signet , Azorius Signet , Dimir Signet . They are faster mana, but with less lategame utility.
Lim-Dul's Vault is pretty crazy and available in these colors. Dispatch is great and affordable. Enlightened Tutor searches for most of your deck.
I don't know enough about this playstyle to suggest much else, though. Hope it helps!
