I think with the inclusion of glint horn, twinflame would find value again as an infinite combo and another way to double damage when looting.

I actually really love the idea of Insult/Injury in the list... I may have to play with this. Any "Double Damage" effect baked into this list would be brilliant. It has me thinking, how fun would it be to brew a list reliant on a powerful, hastened Commander smacking face with multiple combats at double damage? Likely very fun.

oc616

I tried it! Not quite worth a slow, sadly. Perhaps just not for this list.

Jsc149

So, honestly, you may be right... An additional Combo piece for the Dualcaster as well as a potential damage doubler with the Buccaneer. However, outside of those two, Twinflame may have too few Targets of value: the Goblins, the Servant & Knollspine Dragon would make fine Targets, but that's about it. I'll see about running it again to find out how well it works. Why I enjoy Heat Shimmer: doesn't need to be a Creature I control.

I started running Strionic Resonator for neheb triggers. Will let you know how that goes.

add in Library of Leng it lets you keep cards you discard neting you mana to play the card, compliments Alhammarret's Archive really well. save a card and draw into more netting mana the next attack cycle

Built this deck and it was a load of fun to play.

July 29, 2019 9:26 a.m.

Hi Gang,

Jsc149 - Any updates on the resonator? Does that one shot of Neheb goodness get the trick done?

C4dayz - Leng has been in from the start(?). In a slower meta, Archive is a okay.

Apothesis - Glad to hear (read) it! Deck list has changed quite a bit. Much stronger now. Also, expect an updated Primer over on the Channel!

I watched the primer. Great job. I disagree on removing Glint-Horn Buccaneer , but I've already told you in discord the success I've had with it. It's a true mvp in my book.

i want to thank you, your list has inspired me to create my own competitive neheb deck. i am a big fan of this mean cow. i have found a unique way to abuse cloudstone curio and dockside extortionist as my plan c win condition. all you need is imperial recruiter and cloudstone to fetch dockside extortionist creating and infinite bounce netting you the mad prophet so you can draw/loot the libary dropping avacyn judgment. usually your opponents have at least 6 enchantments/rocks for this to happen. another thing is we can grab glint horn instead of the mad prophet and with are infinite mana we attack nuking the board.

Everytime I draw Lotus Bloom turns 3 and up, I die a little. There must be a better card right?

Feedlord117 says... #10

What do you think of backdraft hellkite?

September 15, 2019 6:54 p.m.

Dafufu

Not really, no. Lotus Bloom has saved my ass on many occasions. If it isn't working for you though, I'd simply toss in Jeweled Amulet to help get Neheb out early as well as have a 0 Drop for the Goblin's to play with.

Feedlord117

I wouldn't bother with the 5CMC, non-Haste Creature... Past in Flames has Flashback for 5 (4R), that's more than enough in this list. My only issue is that Cloudstone Curio has nothing to do with Plan A. However, if it's necessary, you can always run more Creatures and work towards a line of play utilizing the Extortionist + Cloudstone + XXX (Creature) + Avacyn's... But I listed off Four Cards right now. This is so far removed from being efficient that I would avoid this line of play entirely, particularly because we need to Rummage the Avacyn's successfully after generating infinite mana (presumably) with Extortionist to get anywhere. Plans like this are better when you have an outlet in your Command Zone. e.g. Lyzolda, the Blood Witch + Corpse Dance + Extortionist = Far Better game plan for that Creature

Fry has worked wonders for me in a heavy blue control meta especially with the new stax walkers like Narset, Parter of Veils . Also Shattered Perception seems like a nice wheel to loot.

ElGatix says... #14

How does the Spellbinder/final fortune + sundial Of The Infinite works??

September 20, 2019 1:05 p.m.

ElGatix

Final Fortune has a delay Trigger, "At the end..." you lose the game. When this is on the stack, we respond by Activating Sundial of the Infinite . Read the wording there.

Feedlord117

Yeah, I have a copy of Fry lying about somewhere. Very good in a Blue/White meta. Shattered Perception is so close to being good... I used it in an earlier iteration. If it said "+1" for the Card Draw, I would be on it.

I included Emrakul v2 as a Plan B for the deck and has won me games. A turn 4 or 5 Eldrazi with a cast trigger is not too bad.

Also added Winter Orb, Static Orb, and Cursed Totem to my build to compete with the other CEDH decks and I have been getting great results. There was a time where I won with just 1 land and a Mana Crypt the entire game.

I won with glint horn thanks to alhammarets and coveted jewel. I drop alhammarets with neheb on the field already so I attack and storm off with extra combat steps spells and recoup/wheels doing over 40 dmg to the whole table. The best way to play alhammarets is when neheb is ready to attack as most people won't allow it to live a rotation. Sometimes I twin flame or heat shimmer glint horn while looting away helping gurantee a win.

Hey Patrick,

I really enjoy the deck!

Just a question: Would you say that, in a non cEDH meta, this deck is viable without the infinite attack step cards? My group doesn't wanna go the cEDH route but we do have stronger decks like Yarok, Zacama, Lord Windgrace etc.

Can the deck still operate properly with "just" the combat step spells? Or does it wiff too often and would be too fragile then? Do you have any experience with that? Or, better put, do you have won games without Aggravated Assault and Spellbinder?

Thanks a lot and cheers!

October 26, 2019 4:45 a.m.

Dafufu

Love the addition of Winter Orb. Definitely helps wreck face as we generate Mana.

Feedlord117

Glinty is pretty boss. I still favor the more all in on Neheb/Dualcaster approach, but if Neheb is allowed to live and is wheeling & dealing, I can see Glinty helping you go off.

Flow88

To start: why don't they want to go the cEDH route? Just curious... Bout to have a discussion "Competitive" Commander on the Channel... Would love to hear what's holding you all back. Also, yes! This will trounce Decks in EDH, a less Combo version that is. Neheb is brimming with potential. Still run all the rituals and such, but double down on Dmg modifiers and protection. Hand to Hand is my new jam (when consistently shifting in and out of Combat). Definitely play Neheb, no matter what the format.

DragonLordJippy

Thanks for the response! Appreciate it a lot!

Well... besides monetary issues atm, a big reason for me not going into cEDH is my group's dislike of plays that take care of the entire table in one turn. They are drawn to longer, grindier games (also budget oriented in the "7 or 8" catergory on a scale to 10) where it is all about fun and interactive backs and forths.

Don't get me wrong, I know - having sucked in a lot of cEDH content on YouTube - that cEDH is all that as well, but I can't get them around to trying it. That's just my "bad luck" as a former Legacy enthusiast.

I am really looking forward to your discussion! Keep me - and I guess all of us that follow your group's content - posted! ;-)

Cheers and all the best

Seeing a couple of card changes, any plans of updating the Updates section? What do you think of the Theros card, Underworld Breach for this deck?

January 3, 2020 1:55 a.m.

Dafufu

Underworld Breach > Aggravated Assault as it’s a less demanding two Card Combo with Neheb (w/Extra Combat in Graveyard). Updates soon to come!

AntF86 says... #24

DragonLordJippy Would it make sense to remove Past in Flames instead of Aggravated Assault since Past in Flames is less reliable/repeatable?

January 8, 2020 7 a.m.

Feedlord117 says... #25

I would run both of them Aggravated Assault and Underworld Breach since you need the redundancy as red doesnt have any other tutor thats not gamble to search for and enchament.
