Whoa, whoa, whoaaaa.... No one's removing any Aggravated Assault , haha. No worries. I'm simply saying, Underworld Breach is a better/more reliant combo piece for the Deck. We'll stick with having both in.

Alright 3 questions for you 1) Why is Dragon Mage not good for this deck? 2) Why is Treasonous Ogre not good for this deck? 3) Is there any good cheap alternatives for Sword of Feast and Famine for if I try to build this IRL?

  1. Too costly & too slow. Not enough room in the Hall of our Bandit Lord for this one.
  2. Not awful for the list. Great method of gaining Mana. However, Mana is generally not a problem here and we don't have many great ways to abuse it else wise.
  3. Nothing shares the same effect that is useable in Mono-Red, sadly.

The best. Use it. Two Card Combo with Neheb, granted you have an extra combat in Graveyard.

I've been doing a little bit of testing in my version of this deck with Fists of Flame and Dragon Mantle , and they've been pretty good in my play group. They replace themselves, and can put in that bit of extra damage needed for the knock out when I don't draw into my combo pieces. I was previously playing Diviner's Wand for the same reason with some evasion and a bit of draw when I'm desperate, but I felt like it was too much Mana.

So the guys from the Casually Competitive channel have tested the new Theros stuff and - SPOILER alert - Underworld Breach is BONKERS!!!!!!!!

I guess it'll do wonders in here as well.

Hey Patrick, have you seen this one? It's from the new set.

Defelcting Swat - Instant - 2R - If you control a commander, it's for free

"You may choose new targets for target spell or ability."

Seems like an auto-include, doesn't it?

Yes! Underworld Breach (in most all Decks it's featured) is bonkers. Secondly, Swat makes the cut... Replacing Uncaged Fury for now. Not a one-to-one swap, but I'm beginning to value the Protection more for this mid-range Combo Deck.

Yeah... Breach is bananas! Sad to see Uncaged Fury go to the maybe board... That card's solid. But I definitely can see the reason for including more protection!

Don't miss out on Raking Claws!

I've been following this deck for a while and am on the edge of building it or something very similar. How do you feel about the deck with the Ikoria cards or since the flash ban? Think this deck has a place in the meta?

What's Raking Claws!? (Check Primer)

AmishWarlord08

Oh, it has only gotten better. Underworld Breach was a huge boon to this list and now we have Raking Claws and Deflecting Swat? Yeah, with one less dumb strategy to worry about, Neheb is only better.

Can someone explain the use of the fetchlands in a mono colored list? Fuel for Underworld Breach? Deck thinning?

May 14, 2020 6:04 p.m.

AllFatherMTG

All of the above. Deck thinning in particular is important: the low land count and Fetch Lands are purposefully added to ensure the Draws from Neheb's effect are hitting the cards we need. By all means, if budgeting, ignore the Fetch Lands, but for the most efficient game they are a must.

Runechanter's Pike is a monster in neheb it can one shot players reducing the amount of extra combat steps needed and allows you to get tru fields of blockers.

Any thoughts on Light Up the Stage?

It decreases your hand size by 1, but it helps you go deeper when looking for that wheel or extra combat effect, you can play lands with it and and has synergy with Final Fortune(lol)

Yooo Patrick. I was about to make an Etali deck for my local game shop's budget night (€40 max). I've been following your channel for awhile and as we both share a hate for blue in competitive, I stumbled across your primers for Neheb. So, I decided to give Neheb a try instead.

Holy cow this deck was explosive even on a budget. I was able to consecutively take out the whole board by turn 5/6. I am now wanting to spend a little extra on it, and just use it for FNM at my store instead because this deck is just SO fun to pilot.

I have to say Fists of Flame worked very well, cantripping and giving him that sweet +1/0 boost on double strike makes it much easier to take out opponents and their blockers. Its also another target for Spellbinder if you still run it. Great primer and I hope that you keep upgrading the deck on tapped out to keep up with new cards because this deck is hella fun.

Time for an update Patrick. This needs Shatterskull Smashing at the very least.

With the amount of red mana you can bank with Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion it might be worth it to add Jaya's Immolating Inferno
