Um, "Tiny Eldrazi"? What eldrazi?

It's just to grab your attention. There aren't any Eldrazi with low enough mana costs, but with Varolz's ability, you could pay 1 to exile Phyrexian Dreadnought and give your charging badger +12/+12, so it's as close to eldrazi as Tiny Leaders can get.

Then definitely take it off.

Well it obviously works to get people's attention, and I need people to look at it so that I can get some input/suggestions. Once I accually finish it, i'll switch it back.

March 26, 2015 7:35 p.m.

That's a terrible idea. Not only is it straight out lying for publicity, which is already morally wrong, but people on T/O get really touchy about that kind of stuff. If you don't want a ton of NEGATIVE publicity, I advise that you take it down immediately.

March 26, 2015 7:37 p.m.

Also, once people see that it's obviously a fake, they'll either just leave or report you, and that won't help you at all.

I'm pretty sure it's just you who really cares... Everyone else probably knows that there is no way to effectively get actual Eldrazi in a Tiny Leaders deck (if there is a way). I'm just here to give and receive ideas, not insult or disturb people. The "Tiny Eldrazi" name gets your attention, then you think about it and probably know that there aren't actual Eldrazi, so you would think that it would be an Eldrazi-like deck. And this is as close as I can get to Eldrazi-like with my Tiny Leaders deck, but that's why I would like input; it's as close as I can get, but maybe other MTG enthusiasts could give me some better ideas. I understand your concern, but I believe that the majority do not share your mindset. If it pleases you, I could put the Eldrazi part in quotation marks to show that it isn't exact.-Thanks, Frodomouth

Please understand Frodomouth that, having joined but a month ago, you may not properly understand. People on this site do not like fakes. A guy got into negative votes because he trolled around. I am simply warning you. Just take off the title and make it something else that fits the format.

Do you have any name or card suggestions?

Also, I've been a member for closer to two months, and you've only been here for 4 months. And you used an example of a guy trolling around, whereas I am proposing a legitimate deck idea with the dream of furthering my playing success and also to expand the minds of others to the possibilities that are available within the Tiny Leaders category. I will admit that I do not have a lot of experience playing Magic (the first pack that I ever bought was last June, and I pulled a foil Ajani, Mentor of Heroes without even knowing what it was), but that's why I really would like input on my deck ideas, because there are a ton of cards out there that may do exactly what I'm looking for, but I just don't know that they exist.

I highly suggest Inkmoth Nexus. And the 1/1 creatures (even the mana dorks, imo) could easily be replaced with various 1-CMC 2/2s, like Carnophage and Diregraf Ghoul for added aggro and Varolz value.

Also SkullBriar. Its interaction with Varolz works as you might think it would. And don't forget Entomb and Buried Alive.

Thanks KAH for the comments. I did think of Inkmoth Nexus, and it is a very good idea. Also, while the 1-mana 2/2 guys are a good idea, I think I'll keep the mana ramp guys for now, because they can help at any point in the game for either mana or sacrificial creatures. Entomb and Buried Alive seem like no-brainers in a deck like this, but I left them out because it has still worked surprisingly well without it. I might trade one of them for cabal ritual and give that a try. As for Skullbriar, he's kinda expensive and they don't have any at my LCS. Same goes for Inkmoth, but I would get Inkmoth if they ever got it in stock.

Oh gosh, I didn't realize how much Skullbriar had risen. Must be performing well in Legacy or something.

Fair enough about the mana dorks, but I still think Essence Warden is an easy upgrade. Here are some great 1-CMC paragons to consider:

I would also suggest Dark Confidant, but if you're on a budget, then Triumph of Ferocity is worth looking into.

Frodomouth says... #15

I like Triumph of Ferocity, but what about Essence Harvest in place of the warden? That could mess someone up big time.

Your creature count is already kinda low for a Varolz deck. I'd replace Exsanguinate with Essence Harvest. Even if you're keeping that card for multiplayer, I don't think you'll get much value from it in this format when you can just knock someone out with the latter.

I agree with the exsanguinate thing. To replace essence warden, I think I'll go with either Nyxathid or Ulvenwald Tracker.

Thanks, malfeischylde for the comment. Those are both really good cards, and I think I might get Nyxathid instead of Essence Warden as mentioned above.

Np. I run a varolz deck since I found out about tiny leaders. It seemed a good idea. I go more creature light, and removal heavy. You might also try throwing in infect aids, like Phyresis and Tainted Strike.

March 30, 2015 6:34 p.m.

Frodomouth says... #21

I have thought of using it as an infect deck, but I like the big creatures more, because infect is almost useless if they counter it and if they cant, it seems really mean and sneaky. I prefer the more honorable man-to-man approach, but I'll add Inkmoth Nexus if I can, just so that there is still an option when their guys are bigger or more plentiful.

Phyrexian Crusader, and Deathrite Shaman are workhorses. Can you check out and comment on my Varolz? Thanks. +1

Frodomouth says... #23

Yeah, i just did before i saw your comment. I do like Deathrite shaman and the Crusader is pretty good too. I'll trade the revoker for the shaman and then i guess i could get rid of my hydra for the crusader, since he doesn't work very well with my deck. Thanks for the comment, i'll be sure to +1 your deck too.
