That's right you read the title correctly. You don't have to attack a single time, if you don't want to despite being in one of the most aggressive colour combinations magic has to offer.

This is now the #1 Tajic-deck on Tappedout and proved that Boros doesn't have to be all about attacking! Just sit back and watch the world burn.

In most games I don't attack a single time, unless some Planeswalker needs to be dealt with. This has been a fantastic strategy so far, because most of the times attacking causes retaliation. Aggro is usually what RW does best, but in a multiplayer game it can get quite challenging for Boros to take on every one once they run out of steam. So just put Tajic, Blade of the Legion to the front and lean back. No reason to attack into an indestructible blocker unless you have evasion or trample. That's how this deck works!

The Wincons

---

** => Infinite Damage** Show

• Easiest/Best combo, because you can tutor for it: Sunforger looking for Arcbond, targeting an indestructible creature of yours. Reequip and search for Gideon's Sacrifice targeting the same creature. Now deal yourself some damage, favourably one of the pain lands and the following unfolds: The creature takes the damage you would receive and then deals and equal amount of damage to all creatures and all players - including yourself. Again the creature takes the damage instead of you and the cycle repeats...! The key card here is Arcbond, the rest can be exchanged. Any indestructible creature that has a Pariah effect on it will work.

• The classic Guilty Conscience + Stuffy Doll is always a treat to play. And you can imagine how stoked I was when Brash Taunter got printed! Then they printed Blazing Sunsteel, so now any indestructible creature can become a Stuffy Doll!

• If you have a Pariah-Effect on your damage redirectors, you can go all in with Volcano Hellion or Wheel of Misfortune and kill someone.

Not infinite, but Toralf, God of Fury   seemed like necessary inclusion to make your global burn spells hurt a lot.

Damage enabler are City of Brass, Battlefield Forge, Talisman of Conviction, Volcanic Fallout, Blasphemous Act, Chain Reaction, Wheel of Misfortune, Star of Extinction, and my favourite one with Tajic on board: Pyrohemia

** => Infinite Life** Show

• Boros Reckoner/Spitemare/Blazing Sunsteel + Darksteel Plate + Basilisk Collar. The first damage they receive will get you infinite life if you keep shooting the triggered damage onto themselves.

• Play Stonehewer Giant and once you cast Volcano Hellion, you call an insanely high number. The target for the Hellion doesn't matter. Might as well kill something. The hellion trigger on the stack you activate the Giant and tutor for Basilisk Collar giving it lifelink. This results in you gaining life equal to the chosen number and the damage dealt to you is prevented, because it is balanced to 0 due to the lifelink. Works since lifelink is a static ability and not a triggered one.

Archived Combos Show

I've changed many cards over the last few upgrades, so quite a few combos are no longer in the deck. But for future reference I will keep them here so people can see what other fun things they can play.

• Coalhauler Swine + Darksteel Plate + Pariah/Pariah's Shield :D If that isn't a janky wincon, I don't know what is.

• Boros Reckoner/Spitemare + Darksteel Plate + Gratuitous Violence/Dictate of the Twin Gods and target themself for a bit doubling the damage every time until it doubled enough to kill someone with it :D .

• With Blasphemous Act and damage doublers, you don't need a Darksteel Plate to kill someone with your redirectors. They receive double and the lucky winner receives quadruple!

• Doubled damage is very lethal with Heartless Hidetsugu and Pariah/Pariah's Shield

• Doubled damage allows you to play the Volcano Hellion without protection, as long as you have a redirector out. For example: 10 dmg to you and Mogg Maniac is 20 dmg to both of you and the Maniac then shoots 40 at an opponent.

Just sit there and watch the world burn :)

These combos are quite vulnerable, and that what makes them so much fun to play. I like that they can be interacted with and yet win you the game, if unanswered. Tajic, Blade of the Legion is my commander because he is a fantastic blocker and a great Pariah target.

If you know any cards I should run to improve this deck I would like to hear your ideas. :)

Future card suggestions and upgrades

I want to thank everyone for their input and suggestions. However some don't work for this deck. Gisela, Blade of Goldnight is not in there, since she can interfere with some of these strategies, plus she paints a big target on your head. Same goes for other damage prevention cards, such as The Wanderer. These are only a viable option if you run cards like Heartless Hidetsugu or other big global burn spells.

In the future I will add cards like Ancient Tomb or Mana Vault should I be able to get them. Bit too expensive for my taste.
