Here it is Wurmlover and zandl

It will never become competitive, but I like to 'exploit' the commander and cheat in alot of gods.

I see you updated your list recently :) you are right about Child of Alara being a good leader for the God's. Built in destruction is very relevant. I went with Karona for the flavor/theme. Only recommendation for your great list would be more stax/destruction: Heat Stroke, Obliterate, Jokulhaups, Devastation, Austere Command these effects along with the others you added reset the board state but the God's will remain. Also, Academy Rector. Grabs creatures and/or whatever utility piece you need.

Hey SufferFromEDHD, thanks for the suggestions. I would love to have more relevant stax effects in my deck. But I prefer to have stax effects that only punish people when aiming at me. My experience in my meta is that when I use cards like Heat Stroke, the whole table tends to aim at me. And this is something I do not want, since I need the time to prepare my board with gods. So cards like Collective Restraint are perfect for me. I got some ideas of your list, which is also a great deck!

If you have any other suggestions that could fit my playstyle, then I love to hear them... finding relevant stax pieces is hard...

Cheers!

You are running Replenish and a lot of recursion... Patriarch's Bidding with Survival of the Fittest has been crucial utility for my list.

That is a great suggestion SufferFromEDHD :-)

I made some changes and added both cards.

You might consider Sphere of Safety. With that many enchantments, it can easily get to +5 per creature. Propaganda and Ghostly Prison are also great in multiplayer environments, and can help you stabilize while you're setting up your devotion. Otherwise, maybe throw in more mass removal? You've got tons of recurrance, but only two wraths. Decree of Pain and Supreme Verdict are my favorites.

Ramp would be helpful for hitting the very specific mana requirements of the lieges, e.g. Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, but you'd have to add basic lands, haha. I have a similar enchantress five color deck, and I run ~1-2 of each just for those kinds of ramp spells. Also/or, creature based ramp might work better for your deck: blockers early game, devotion late game. Dawntreader Elk, Primal Druid, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Farhaven Elf. They'd also be fodder for your sac elements, and recurring them would really help you develop your late game.

Finally, I feel like there's a bit too much graveyard recurrence. The gods are indestructible, so unless you add self milling stuff like Hedron Crab or more fodder, it seems unnecessary. Or were you going to sac the lieges and recur? Bit confused on that front.

Love the addition of Shifting Shadow. The "destroy" on indestructible gods is really clever. +1

Hello MunchingAberration, thanks for your interesting comment. It is very appreciated!

In the meantime I made a few (read: 5) adjustments. Also inspired by your observations, but with a slight adjustment.

I agree with you on having more ramp/mana fixing options will improve the stability of the deck. It doesn't have to be alot faster, since I play this deck only at a casual/semi casual table in big pods. But less mana screws in 5-color is always nice...

My commander - Child of Alara - is the key element in this deck. I have balanced the sac and recur effects based on the many games I played. The only reason I have them in this deck is to exploit my commander. That's all. Instead of using a pillowfort strategy to buy me time, I occasionally wipe the board while I build my god army. I keep the board at check while it has little impact on myself. Because I use this approach I needed ramp options that can find extra lands, since lands won't be affected by the boardwipes caused by my commander. The new options can all find the special lands which have two basic land subtypes.

Since my commander is the wrath element, I decided to run just 2 really decent wipers that give me no hassle. It has come to a point that if I want to add stuff, I am having a hard time making place.

Shifting Shadow is a nice trick indeed. But I hardly use it, but the idea alone made me keep it for now.

What do you think so far, now that I explained my approach?

Thanks!

Great minds think alike!

Karona, the False God Tribal shenanigans

Femeref Enchantress has been excellent in my build. Only recommendation I have.

Gotcha, it makes more sense if you're using your commander to wipe the board consistently. Guess I was thinking like a pillowfort player - my five-color deck is enchantress pillowfort, with alternate win-cons like Maze's End and Azor's Electors, so it builds very different!

Depending on how casual your games are, Enduring Ideal. Major style points, and janky as all hell, haha

Thanks for you replies MunchingAberration and SufferFromEDHD!

I made some new changes, which should improve the consistancy and speed of the deck. Curious how the results will be :)

Hey, if you drop all of the other instants and sorceries, Primal Surge instantly wins because you will have ~30 Purphoros, God of the Forge triggers.

Hi whatskraken. Thanks for the interesting suggestion. The backlash of this card is that when you have 5 or more enchantments - which is pretty common to achieve - your gods have a very likely chance of turning into 4/4 creatures. Endgame I do not want this to happen.

Thanks for the suggestion SynergyBuild, I removed the card from my maybeboard a few days ago, since I bought one. I will surely test this and see how it goes. I can't afford to miss out on the spell ramp, so I am trying to find a good balance with as few non permanents as possible. Since lands don't get wiped when I let my Child go loose... any suggestions?

Since you are playing five colours you might wish to consider Shard Convergence and Untamed Wilds. Oketra the True might also be a worthy consideration for this deck. Extinguish All Hope may be a fun consideration for a deck that mostly plays enchantment creatures that are indestructible. Humbler of Mortals may be a fun consideration as well as Commune with the Gods: useful and it is on theme. Thassa's Devourer may also be a fun addition to the deck. Whitewater Naiads could potentially make all your creatures unblockable. Worst Fears is also something fun and evil you might want to add to this deck. Rewind and Dissolve are worthy counter spells.

I hope these suggestions prove to be of some use!

My favourite three enchantment combination is Wild Pair plus Where Ancients Tread in addition to Warstorm Surge. I can guarantee that people will fear your deck. Just do not forget that they do enter as enchantments but are cast as creatures. Wild Pair will work but the other two might not if your devotion is not 7.

Two new cards have been added to this deck:

The last set we decided being legal in our playgroup will be 'Theros Beyond Death'. Any suggestion untill 'Theros Beyond Death' is more than welcome. See the reason in the deck description.

Since I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet: The World Tree . I'm running it in my five color decks that don't even run gods just for the mana fixing, but honestly in here I think it'd be amazing.

+1 from me, love the synergy between Child and gods.

Hi Lhurgyof, I agree that this card would be amazing. But in the playgroup I am active in, we decided (for now) that the last legal set would be 'Theros Beyond Death'. We grew really tired of the immense powercreep happening this year.

I only play with this group, so I will stick with this houserule (for now).

Thanks for your suggestion anyway :-)

New cards are being added soon :-)

PartyJ: that's a shame, you missed out on some really good God cards, but I understand the reasoning.

Made some deck updates and this deck is alive and kicking again.

Houserules here still state that we use cards up to 'Theros Beyond Death'. Just because the mayority of our playgroup doesn't like the powercreep that was happening after that set. I am fine with it, as there is enough to pick from.
