I have been running Hero of Iroas instead of Precinct Captain and it has been working out well. The Hero is another target for the Ordeal of Heliod and he makes Gift of Orzhova & Ordeal itself one cheaper. Both Hero and Captain are good though, in certain situations.

Spinner80 They are interchangeable, almost. I'm of the opinion that Hero doesnt do quite enough for me, where as Precinct Captain is almost always a great play. He's great in heroic deck most definitely, but this isn't really that. Let me know how he works for you, I always encourage suggestions and making the deck your own if you choose to run it.

Hey I was wondering where you would place Brimaz, King of Oreskos in this deck. Would you switch out 3 Fiendslayer Paladin for him? I actually only own 3 Brimaz, King of Oreskos so I was wondering where to fit him in.

No More Flaccid White Weenies!Splash for Athreos, God of Passage Enchantment deck. Fun fun fun. +1 from me.

Starburstin If you were to add him to the deck that would be the optimal place to put him, yes. But if you do I would add Fiendslayer Paladin to the sideboard because he is just so good. In this meta full of removal he is just amazing.

!!!+1!!! this is awesome. as a fellow "non-net-decker", and a doctor who fan, i'm going to tell you that this deck looks really solid, and something that wins a lot. on a side note, if you happen to have a couple Brimaz, King of Oreskos , or another Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx then they would fit very well in here. here's a link to my "home-made" standard deck, aptly named "not gruul? then die!"

i like all the doctor who references in the description.

NicolBolasFTW Thanks :) I know Brimaz would be great, but seeing as he is 30 dollars a pop I really don't want to cash out for him haha. And as far is nykthos goes I was actually leaning towards removing it, in this deck large amounts of mana isn't really needed.

fair enough, but nykthos allows you to churn out 3 or 4 weenies pretty early game, so i would keep at least 1 in there.

i would also recommend Phalanx Leader , he's really powerful especially in this type of deck.

NicolBolasFTW I ran him for a long time, but you'll notice one thing about the build I have now...every creature can stand on it's own. They all are good creatures that can stand alone but benefit from the enchantments, where as Phalanx Leader is dependent upon other cards to be good. That's why I dislike the heroic mechanic, it requires other cards to make a card even viable to run. Basically, he just disappointed me one too many times. Drawing him later game is basically the worst thing ever so...yeah that's why I don't run him anymore.

Develagent666 It is too high of a drop for this deck, any 4 drop should be winning us the game and this could possibly slow us down. Not to mention that Sunbond does nothing the turn it is played really. If I were to play a four drop enchantment it would be Holy Mantle

my only question is, why no Boros Reckoner ? He's really good and maybe a Brimaz, King of Oreskos or two?
April 29, 2014 10:03 p.m.
Dalektable says... #15
NicolBolasFTW Boros Reckoner is better is midrange, the three drops in this deck basically either ensure my win the next turn if not dealt with or is incredibly strong against the biggest deck archetype in the format. And Brimaz, King of Oreskos is a 30 dollar card and adding a single copy would be a 1/3 of the price of the deck lol.

Both are really just different routes to take with this deck, and not ones I want to take. If you choose to build this I encourage any changes you feel you would like better to be done, however I like the list as it is now for the most part. A Mutavault or two would be nice, but you know.

A well worth +1!What are your thoughts on Loyal Pegasus for this deck?
April 30, 2014 3:30 a.m.
Dalektable says... #18
cyaegha Thanks :) I don't realky think Loyal Pegasus is standard playable. In draft a 2/1 flyer for one mana is great, but it's drawback is too big for standard. Ideally any one drop here can attack turn two, but because of the clause "_ Can't attack or block alone" means he can't attack until turn three and with this deck we really want to drop the damage quickly.

How about Cavalry Pegasus ? Can make all of your humans fly over their heads.
April 30, 2014 9:02 p.m.
NicolBolasFTW says... #20
why would Dalektable run Cavalry Pegasus ? not that it isn't good, but there just isn't that much he could take out without making the deck worse. Besides, he already has Gift of Orzhova .
On a side note, Dalektable, I might side a 4th Fiendslayer Paladin . They are pretty strong, gain you life, kill your opponent's stuff and don't die because of first strike, and work really well in R/G or B/R matchups.
April 30, 2014 9:07 p.m.
Develagent666 says... #21
Well saying his deck is all humans, and Gift of Orzhova is only for one creature.
April 30, 2014 10:08 p.m.
NicolBolasFTW says... #22
hmm. i still think that Cavalry Pegasus would be a decent sideboard card, to go against decks with fliers, but I don't think he's good enough for the main board.
April 30, 2014 10:16 p.m.
One of the sayings Dalektable repeats over and over to suggestions is "Each creature card in here can hold it's own, or just wins the game." Removing a creature for Cavalry Pegasus just isn't worth it for this deck. The Pegasus needs creatures on the field to be good, and with the standard environment as it is, there is just too much removal. Also, it needs to wait a turn before it can end the game. In short, it's just not effective enough in practice to do what it looks like it could do on paper.
