i realize the cost :O you do have two of the paladin's in your side tho. even at that i would suggest putting them main board.

i was lucky to pull one Archangel of Thune and trade for one, helping me decide on building (Nylea's Hunters). Slowly I spent on the Fiendslayer Paladin 's and trade for them. also pulling Ajani, Caller of the Pride made this budget player very happy.

I don't think Fiendslayer Paladin is worth it main. He doesn't scale. See comment here. Pretty much everything said about Boros Reckoner also applies to fiendslayer with the exception of mana issues. Essentially 2 enchants on him = 5 damage, 2 enchants on Fabled Hero = 14 damage.

That said, I wholeheartedly approve of him as a sideboard. It's also possible that he's more sensible main since this particular deck lacks Favored Hoplite which is amazing against red.

You won outright. The speed of this deck is awesome. Well done on the build You beat Consume This 2/1 Game one T5 death of me by a hopeful with Ethereal Armor Life gain and damage.. jeez Game two i took on T9 Cyclonic Rift s and Far / Away Kept me in it long enough to get out a Consuming Aberration followed by a Lazav, Dimir Mastermind and a Dying Wish on the aberration. milled and made him fat then used a Devour Flesh on him to bring life total way up and killing you off. Game three was very much like the first..(pretty damn consistent deck man) Eidelon with Gift of Orzhova Ethereal Armor and Ordeal of Heliod T5 swing and death.

Quadsimotto Thanks for playtesting it! I like your deck, i almost built one like this for the current standard before stumbling along this deck i'm playing currently. I might consider running another Rogue's Passage for your Consuming Aberration seeing as you're running a playset, that combo is a win con on it's own nevermind milling them out.

I originally had two in and took one out for the combo of the Dying Wish an idea i borrowed from another players deck. i may make room for another or just throw it in and run 61 .

dont run 61. consistency is the best thing for a deck. No matter what, if you have more than 60 cards, there's always a "worst" card in your deck, no matter how good the card is. If you take out the worst card, you deck becomes better because then you will only draw your better cards.

Quadsimotto I like it, enchant an aberration and then Away it. Death.

Its great with Devour Flesh HUGE life gain advantage if it is not enough to kill off the other guy.

Why do you only run 1 Nykthos, shrine to nix. That, and a lot of other card choices make me wonder if you're on a budget. Are you?

Matsi883 Yes i am as is clearly listed in the deck hubs. Even with that being said, i don't think running more than one nykthos is necessary or even needed with this deck

I've won many games on 3 mana with a similiar deck. And I don't necessarily see what a budget has to do with it. The high price of a card doesn't exactly make it more fun to play.

When you only run 1 of a card, it is usually for two reasons.

1) You don't have room for more/You can't afford more

2) You don't want to draw it except for certain situations.

Which one does Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx fit (let's assume you have no budget restrictions)?

BreadManDan says... #14

While I think Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is a nice card and can help alot, I just don't see it as necessary in this deck (or my own). I can run everything on hardly any mana (other than my Elspeth, which I am thinking of removing). So I'd list the reasons above as: 1) You don't have room for more/You can't afford more2) You don't want to draw it except for certain situations3) It's not really necessary for the deck to performWith my choice being #3

Agreeing with DSHoyt. It's a one-of because it isnt necessary to the performance of the deck, but in certain situations it can be deadly. But those situations are few and far between, in most games that i've had nykthos out i would have been just as happy with a plains.

Hey, great deck. I've only just got into the game and I started making a white deck based around Lifegain. Seeing this has inspired me to focus more on aggro and certain enchantments. +1 from me. BTW, have you considered Sphere of Safety ? It would make a great way to deal with a deck that focuses on tokens (like Assemble the Legion ). I use it to great effect against a friends sapproling deck.

Mazzuno says... #17

The only thing about that Darth_Versity is that's a 5 drop. His highest cost right now is a 4 drop and the games not gonna last too long. (Props on how fast this damn thing is btw Slytherclawed)

Also if any creature does do damage to him, BOOM Spear of Heliod to the testicles and destroys it, plus with all this life gain and the speed of this deck I doubt he needs to ever block an incoming creature.

(White decks like this make me rage so bad.)

Darth_Versity Thank you for the +1 and i'm glad this could inspire a deck idea of your own, once you build it you'll have to link me to it so i can see! Also on Sphere of Safety Mazzuno is right by turn five with this deck i should be on the verge of winnig already so blocking is never high priority. If i ever get to the point where i actually need to block with this deck, the game is basically already lost.

Mazzuno Thanks, i love the way this deck runs being able to win a game before turn 6 with more than my starting life total is just incredibly fun.

Deck looks great, only thing i could suggest is maybe 2 of Battlefield Medic , indestructable attackers against other aggro decks, and sacrifice it to deal with those pesky revelations

billmartin98 I'm assuming you mean Frontline Medic which i've considered, i just don't know where i would fit him in here. He might be sideboard material, i'll try to find a place for him.
