I'm with you on a deck that has little to lose: And as luck would have it, i made a mono white deck the same time as you, Heroic March. Here's to the rise of budget!

I think your deck is great...it inspired me to build my own version.

Mine is a little different...not devotion instead a blue splash. It allows a slightly better side board i think for control matchups.

Anyway i'd like to ask your opinion: if you could (i know you're Mono White) which would you choose in the 2 drop slot and why? Precinct Captain or Battlewise Hoplite ?

Finally why do you choose Fabled Hero over Fiendslayer Paladin is it simply the double strike hits harder faster??

Glare of Heresy can take care of alot of what control has to offer, as well as Boros Reckoner and Voice of Resurgence .

Judge's Familiar is also a good one drop to side in against control, putting them back a turn.

Wainwright Thanks! Personally i would run Precinct Captain over Battlewise Hoplite . His first strike is very relevant in almost every situation i've had him on the board, and the fact that he spits out babies every time he deals damage is great. The scry 1 one the hoplite is good, just not as good. And finally i run Fabled Hero over Fiendslayer Paladin because he is simply a bomb. If i can enchant him, if my opponent doesnt have an answer for him its basically game over. The paladin is good to side in vs decks with heavy removal, though i am considering mainboarding the two and dropping two heroes. Also, to be honest i would run more paladins in the sideboard but they're just so damn expensive (on a budget at least)

Thanks for the explanation Dalektable that helps - I've had so many suggestions of the Hoplite - it did get me thinking about the switch. Targetting an heroic to make it bigger and scry is useful for setting up the next draw in what we want to be a play fast kill fast deck.

I like the first strike though, keeps him on board rather than trading 1 for 1 when you swing, the tokens are nice against aggro mirrors and great if they get a boost from Phalanx Leader when you swing next turn.

I personally run 4 paladins, but I see a hell of a lot of black and red decks... but i like the Fabled Hero , because he's just such a heavy hitter, even with proc he gets taken out before I can even blink though.

If you could look at my deck and offer an opinion, it'd be super helpful Azorius UNcontrolled!.

Thanks

So with white creature selection I find that Precinct Captain dies way too easily. I prefer Yoked Ox or Favored Hoplite to him in most matchups involving red or green. Vs. B or U and control in general he's quite nice, though. If you up creature count a little he's also great in aggro race.

I used to play him hoping I could load some enchants on him and get a 1/1 horde, but it never worked out.

However, my current version of this deck, (actually I need to update the list, but it's within a few cards of current) Spotted Phalanx, values creature conservation a lot in order to double damage and hope there's no Erebos, God of the Dead out for the other side.

I ran this deck at a FNM place (Well I used god's willing instead of brave, but still had 2 braves) and took second. I hope you don't mind the stealing, I knew I wanted to play white and i've been trying different versions for quite awhile. Basically found out what I like! Thank you sir!

I was quite surprised considering there was around 25 people there, but I prefer god's to target the fableds, with a few braves to save from the burning. I tend to throw the phalanxs for banishers a lot as well. It's a great idea thank you instead for the idea to base off!

Schneeky I've been thinking about including Gods Willing and i think soon i'm going to switch the deck to three of them, two braves and drop a hero

Schneeky Also i'm thinking about dropping an ordeal and a god for the two paladins. Thoughts?

Going down to three ordeals would still work very well (Since after a creature has three counters you can't really use another to it's full extent but you still can get some life). However the god is your only late game at the moment (You may laugh at that idea however...). I had a game vs a green/black kill deck at one point all I had was the god out. I did all I could by getting mana flooded so make the 2/1 enchantment clerics. I had about 8 out (2 a turn) drew an etheral armor and was able to kill a monsterous world eater because of all the clerics being enchantments. I would keep the 2 gods! :)

Congrats on 100 Dalektable :)

Would you mind giving my deck a look? I'm dropping the Heliod, God of the Sun for sure over Archangel of Thune . I'm trying to lower my cmc. I need to get more 2 casts in there somewhere, and possibly add 2 Fabled Hero 's. If I had more than the one Soldier of the Pantheon , They would be included.

One Nation, Under God

Thanks in advance.

As a doctor who fan and a magic fan I must up vote you, but I think the quote is "oh, and something else, I don't have anything to lose!" comma after the "else" and no colon.

bookDevourer As did i, but i looked up the quote and read from it just so i would be sure i had everything right (even though i knew it all from memory) when writing it and weird enough it had a colon.

the EXACT one thing that i hate about playing with 4x Soldier of the Pantheon is that i get screwed over with Gift of Orzhova . how does your deck play in games where there is such an interaction (or rather lack thereof)?

Dalektable okay, understood. Sorry.

bookDevourer completely fine, thanks for the +1!

merrowMania That is one downfall, but the only one. Sure there have been plenty of times where i would have loved to enchant Soldier of the Pantheon with a Gift of Orzhova but without it he's fine. He's a great card and i have other enchantments to throw onto him. And honestly of all the creatures to put a gift on, i wouldnt want it to be soldier. Precinct Captain Phalanx Leader or preferably Fabled Hero

touche

luckily, you still can enchant Fiendslayer Paladin
