I'd cut the Grim Contests and replace them with some more consistent removal. Grim Contest is a really cool card in this deck, but it's just not as good as straight up removal like Ultimate Price, or some other black removal. The contest requires more colors to cast, requires you to have a creature out, isn't guaranteed to kill their guy, and risks killing yours. Otherwise, this is a really cool build! I've been racking my brain trying to brew a good Assault Formation deck too!

buffoalx I completely agree. I'll probably put Grim Contest in my sideboard just in case the other person has a lot of multicolored creatures. Thanks for the input.

Couple of questions why the first tree? What do you see this enchantment working with?T1Black land: disowned ancestorT2Green land: assult formation Attack 4dmgT3Green land: shape the Sands Attack 9dmg Cast kin-tree, make a 9/9 green white
Wow. Love it man.
Also, how do you feel about rotting mastradon? Might fit well

Chefjohntodd I'm honestly not sure why I put that there. It's been a while since I actually took a good look at this and I have no clue. Do you have any replacement suggestions? Also, with Rotting Mastadon normally I don't put any creatures in decks that don't have any "abilities" but I see how having a 5 drop 8/8 could've be useful haha.

I am find it needing more creatures. I cut down fruits and added the 2 masterdons. I can seen to find a decent 2 drop. Anyone any ideas there?

Fun budget deck within rotation, +1. Maybe Gurmag Angler, great vs. mill and control games where they are destroying/countering a lot.

Need to lower the cmc, not enough pro active early drops
+4 Archers' Parapet

You could use some cheaper removal than Foul Renewal. I would remove the Graveblade Marauders and put the Grim Contest mainboard, as with such high toughness creatures, you're not going to be hitting his ability very often at all.

I keep playing mill decks recently. Marauder is a bad mofo when half you library is in the graveyard

I like both Graveblade Marauder and Foul Renewal especially because if something does happen to kill my creatures I have someway of getting them back if I haven't gotten Assault Formation out yet.

Meandering Towershell and Rotting Mastodon I have been toying with as well.

Graveblade Marauder is great against mill decks, but that is just one narrow matchup and the deck has no other natural synergies to make his ability function beyond your fatties dying regularly, meaning it will never reach it's full potential and is bad in the deck. He's more for Sultai graveyard strategies utilizing things like Sultai Ascendancy, Taigam's Scheming, Nyx Weaver, and Satyr Wayfinder.
What this deck really needs is ways to go wider than just putting giant butts on the ground then turning those butts in to swords with formation, as enchantments are really fragile in this standard. Outland Colossus and Kin-Tree Invocation are both great calls you've made, as they give good outs, but you can do other things as well.
Grim Contest provides cheaper removal allowing you to hit earlier game threats. While Foul Renewal works fine later in the game as recursion and removal, you want something that can effect the board earlier. Ultimate Price is certainly good, but with Contest you ensure you hit all the threats they can throw. I would also cut the Sight of the Scalelords, as your creatures are going to be fat enough, and add in some utility spells like Shamanic Revelation, Despise/Duress, Languish, and other BG shenanigans I'm sure I'm missing.
Adding in those spells will allow you to potentially grab some of the juicy delve fatties that black provides, like Gurmag Angler, or if budget allows, Tasigur, the Golden Fang who can be dropped early and just put in work.
Splashing blue would allow for some fantastic plays as well things like Monastery Flock and Dragon's Eye Savants synergize perfectly with formation. This would also give you access to a very solid boardwipe in Profaner of the Dead.
Overall, I like the base premise of the deck, I just think it's a bit narrow in it's focus and could do more to go wide :)

Alright guys. I've made some changes. SkyBane, you and a friend of mine convinced me that going Sultai would be a good idea so I made that happen. Let me know what you guys think. I'm still working on the land but if you guys could help with sideboard and mainboard, that would be awesome.

Except for some flight, you have no reliable way of really getting through defenders aside from raw power. Since those flyers have no hex protection they probably won't make it far. Your flyers also have no trample so they are easily blocked by 1/1 thopters.
Add some Invisibility if your Blue is reliable. Some Glint might also be helpful in both hexproofing and reinforcing your guys.

You can also trade your more mana costly creatures for Cloudform. You have enough creatures that you can just randomly use it and get a hexproof flyer out of it.

Would add Cloudform and remove your top four mana creatures, or just Kin-Tree Invocation. You already have powerhouses. What you need is a way to get by removal and token blockers.
