Black mana ramp is rather obvious in Standard, Crypt Ghast and Liliana of the Dark Realms both can easily double or quadruple mana and
Liliana's Shade
can search for Swamps whenever the hand is empty of lands. Now where would this mana go?
Grave Betrayal provides for free buffed up dudes that your opponents might try to use to chump block the massively 'roided up
Liliana's Shade
that's basically inevitable with all that mana.Desecration Demon works as a shortcut, forcing your opponents to give up whatever creatures they have on field and provide you with an army in the mean time.
Typhoid Rats
starts the curve off, providing for a cheap blocker with deathtouch that also serves to feed Grave Betrayal.
Diabolic Revelation and Increasing Ambition are definitely not on par with Demonic Tutor (but at least they're standard), but hell you have all that mana anyway so you might as well tutor up a handful of Murder's or replacement Crypt Ghasts for when your opponents gets tired of that mana shenanigans .
Now sometimes plans can go awry, maybe your on the receiving end of a couple of unlucky Thought Scours or those Grave Betrayals get countered or blown up by Enchantment hate, an obvious solution is to reanimate that milled Mikaeus, the Unhallowed with
Rise from the Grave
. With no Grave Betrayals out and with all this destruction, your opponent's graveyard will look nice and juicy, Wight of Precinct Six takes advantage of that fat graveyard and buffs himself pretty nicely.
If somehow opponents try to use up the graveyard youhave so kindly help full, a few
Cremate
s will help to get rid of problem cards that they would try to Flashback or Scavenge.
Update: Mikaeus doesn't seem to be able to do much whenever Necropolis Regent is out doing her thang.-1 Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, -1 Increasing Ambition, +2 Army of the Damned
