Hidden strings is an all star if you're looking for heroic triggers, T1, plains, Nyxborn Shieldmate T2, Island, however many Hidden Strings is in your hand, always untapping your lands, cipher them onto shieldmate, then cast hero of iroas, swing with the shieldmate, cast the ciphers, untapping your lands for protection spells like gods willing against any removal, and can continue casting for free because they will be occupied with other threats

Yup. The same thing can work with any of the above argued 1 drops. However since Hidden Strings targets two different permanents, I prefer Favored Hoplite . I can drop him on T1, then the strings on T2 (like you said) followed by Hero of Iroas . Now this time, you are getting more bang for your buck since each cipher is targeting two different heroics at once.

Why remove Negate ? I feel like you need something to counter. Did it not playtest well?
February 6, 2014 5:15 p.m.
Incara- Just trying out a new mix for the time being! Negate will make a comeback for sure, we're just trying to nail down the right thing to take out for it. Most likely, it will either be Hopeful Eidolon or Daxos of Meletis .

Sweet, I'll be following. How necessary have your shock lands and scry lands been? I'm thinking about building it, but I also want to try it on a budget. Is that a fools errand in this case?
February 6, 2014 8:19 p.m.
Celestial Flare -great removal for blood baron or stormbreath; take out 3 Rapid Hybridization . Gift of Orzhova - Aura,+1/+1,flying,lifelink; possibly take out a Fiendslayer Paladin or two for this.I feel Azorius Charm would be much better than Murder Investigation .Don't take out Daxos of Meletis hes sooo good! I have a similar deck and run 3 in the sideboard.
February 7, 2014 1:34 a.m.
Yep! I went back to an older sideboard and took out Murder investigation!
February 7, 2014 6:47 a.m.
Incara- I think you could do it without them, as long as you're playing carefully! The deck really soars once it plays its third land, so be aware of that and shoot for both colors accordingly!

im sad , i told you about the fiendslayer, and i sold them XD and now you use! i ordered all card, i have all cards except the fiendslayer! going try the deck at my shop as soon as i got the cards =o

Win enough store credit to buy them. That's what Ransom is doing. He has everything except Fiendslayer too! lol

Why Nyxborn Shieldmate over Favored Hoplite ? Also Dispel is cheaper than Negate and will work against sphinx revs, downfalls, ultimate price, doom blades, abrupt decays and golgari charms. Would leave some negates in for Supreme Verdict and Anger the gods
February 9, 2014 5:26 p.m.
you cant counter supreme verdict, dispel only work against instant, negate work for all except creature (enchantment, sorcery, artefact...)
i watched scg tournament stream, there is some uw control, uw devotion but not heroic =(

So I've built this deck and it's constantly being out-aggroed by my RDW deck. I'm pretty sure those shock and scry lands are necessary. I basically built the deck with -4 Temple of Enlightenment and -4 Hallowed Fountain and replaced them with +2 Island , +2 Plains and +4 Azorius Guildgate . My mana draws have been pretty bad so far. In addition, Madcap Skills absolutely wrecks this deck. I can't get two blockers out fast enough. Guess I'll be trying to trade for some Fiendslayer Paladin .
Here's the exact deck I'm playing against:

I mainboard Fiendslayer Paladin since red and black removal really hurts this deck and I would sideboard in Gift of Orzhova to deal with aggro. I think RDW is beatable. ransom09 might sideboard in Daxos of Meletis in this situation for lifegain and keeping up with the aggro.

Hey people! I haven't updated this deck in awhile because I've been really busy, but in the mean time I've put together and (briefly) tested a Hexproof Heroic deck. Feel free to check it our as well and leave any feedback/suggestions!
Here's the link: Untouchable Heroes

I'm not such a big fan of Phalanx Leader . Since this deck normally doesn't flood the board with creatures, Phalanx Leader just becomes a subpar heroic target. I'd try Favored Hoplite or Battlewise Hoplite , both of which seem to work better in enchantment based heroic decks. I also highly suggest Murder Investigation in the sideboard for the control matchup. It's just great to conserve power after a control matchup board wipes.

@Arorsthrar, I'm actually running more of a Bant Hexproof version right now with Favored Hoplite , I just haven't updated the site yet!

@ ransom09I am kinda new to magic and I have a questions about Glimpse the Sun God , how does that instant trigger the heroic abilities at the end of declare attackers step? Thank you I appreciate it. This deck looks pretty awesome as well as your hexproof version.

Love the deck but one thought how is this deck compered to http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/heroic-leader-tournament-deck/ it seems as though in the current meta the other one might do well as removal and control seems like it could wreck this deck any thoughts. Thanks for a great deck build

@stubz151 The list on this page isn't even the list that I run anymore, but it got so much attention that I felt like I should leave it as it is, so that other people can start with it and change it according to their local meta and preferences.
The deck I personally use varies from week to week, but the creature base is very similar to the deck you linked to. I will say that I haven't thought of using Retraction Helix in the deck like @I_H8_U_M8 does in the deck you linked, so I'll be giving that a shot this week! Love all the Heroic lists! Keep up the good work boys!
