Here's the idea --> you investigate up the wahzoo by playing creatures and lands, you play a Fleeting Memories and a Sphinx's Tutelage. Bada Bing Bada Boom you now mill them for 5 cards minimum and draw a card every time you sac a clue.

Cards such as Graf Mole enable you to take a couple hits from those pesky aggro decks by giving you a return on your clue investment with 3 life.

Now why would a non ramp deck play Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger? simple! you play the Briarbridge Patrol and sac three clues to put him on the field. sure you could hard cast him, but there is something about flashing in an Ulamog while drawing cards that gives me a smile on my face or better yet, using Tamiyo's Journal to tutor for Ulamog and play him.
