Overview:
Welcome back to another Mono-Colored deck of mine! In this series, I try to keep the cost of cards minimized, but the effectiveness of the deck maximized. This deck's mechanic is everyone's favorite, milling! (It's actually awful to fight against)
It's rather straight forward so I won't bother explaining myself like I did for Come On Baby Light My Fire. Cast the spells, counter theirs, and you'll have them flipping the table in frustration in no time.
This deck functions very well against 1 opponent, but can suffer tremendously in multiplayer games, so add some extra creatures in multiplayer format. It may put you over 60 cards, but you'll survive long enough to kill your other opponents too.
Side Board:
Naturally, you want to have Jace, Memory Adept in your deck if you can afford to splurge on the Planeswalker, but as with my other mono decks the Planeswalker is not a win condition, they just help you run the deck better. Compelling Argument is the more expensive mana cost version of Tome Scour (and they have the same price too). I like the former for the Channel ability since card draw is lacking in this deck, but feel free to sub one for the other or do them both. Lastly I've included Fleet Swallower because 1. It's hilarious and 2. It's strong. The downside to it being in this particular deck is that by the time you're able to summon it you're only milling your opponent for about 5-10 (assuming you're fighting another 60 card deck) since the rest of the deck is so efficient and the same goes for Traumatize. Include it in longer games or games where your opponent has more than 60 cards.
Maybe Board:
I've included a couple of options here for those of you who want to keep the price down or inversely, want to splurge a little. Ideally, we have Hedron Crab in the mix too. Instead, I've included Overwhelmed Apprentice which is not as powerful but serves as a passable substitute in my opinion. Tasha's Hideous Laughter is fantastic because you're exiling instead of milling (which can counter flashback and other graveyard abilities) and it's a fun D&D reference. I would personally substitute it for some of the enchantments I've included or some creatures, but either way, it's very strong and highly recommended, the only downside is that it doesn't synergize with the rest of the effects of the deck. Lastly, we have Bruvac the Grandiloquent who makes this deck absolutely nutty. In the optimal version of this deck, we would have 4 of them.
As always, any suggestions are welcome!
