Mirror Mockery would be a good fit in this deck, I didn't think about targeting my own creatures to get additional ETB effects. Thanks!
Now I just gotta figure out what to take out..

I know Dragonlord Ojutai is just beastly but you could axe it for Mirror Mockery to control the board earlier. Especially if The Thing is your win-con. But it is beastly.

That's not a bad idea, but Dragonlord Ojutai has saved me quite a few times in games as either my only hitter or when the board is stale it can Anticipate me to instants/sorceries to trigger Thing in the Ice's ability.
I think what I'll do is remove Horribly Awry and an Ojutai's Command from the sideboard and replace it with two Mirror Mockery's so I can still use them if the occasion calls for it.

Because cash is tight do you think I could swap dragonlord ojutai for separatist voidmage? Or would the deck be massively hindered? Awesome deck +1

Would you be able to enchant thing in the ice with mirror mockery so when it flips you do twice the damage?

Dragonlord Ojutai is highly recommended, but I suppose you could replace it with anything that fits with the deck. Separatist Voidmage is ok since it bounces a creature, but I'd think about trying Startled Awake when SOI releases (currently around $5). Since it's a sorcery it affects Thing in the Ice and Myth Realized and it can turn into a creature for the same CMC as Ojutai and be possibly cast again and again to mill your opponent.
Better yet, if you have Persistent Nightmare on the field when Thing in the Ice flips then it just goes back to your hand without having to go through combat.
And no, Mirror Mockery wouldn't give the second Thing in the Ice haste so it wouldn't be able to attack, you'd want to use it on Reflector Mage or Harbinger of the Tides like it was said above.

If you can get spell mastery you should replace immolating glare with swift reckoning

Swift Reckoning is perfect! Thanks. Planar Outburst wouldn't be a bad sideboard card either.

+1 from me! I read the majority of the professional articles published and this is by far my favorite Thing in the Ice deck I've seen so far!
I also feel that if this list easily allows for modifications as the format develops. Personally I do not care for Horribly Awry but it is a valuable tool to have depending on which threats lead standard...

is the possible scry 2 on Calculated Dismissal worth running it over Spell Shrivel or Void Shatter?
also Rise from the Tides could be fun with all the spell mastery in this deck.

That's why I run Calculated Dismissal, the scry 2 is very nice to have.
Rise from the Tides might be a nice addition as a one of in the future.

I think you need to bump your mana base up to 23-24 lands. I think this because you are still fairly inconsistent on getting your mana that you need early.

Also, i would think of putting in 4 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip cards since they are so good for any control based deck.

I haven't had that much trouble getting mana screwed since most of my spells are 2-3 drops. And believe me if I could afford it I would definitely put in 4 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip.

I really dig this deck! I will be building a variation off of this, I have the Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flips already lol but I am thinking maybe find a place in there for Odric, Lunarch Marshal. him sharing Dragonlord Ojutai's hexproof ability while untapped seems to me a good addition.

I really like your deck also and i might be building something like this as a possibility or maybe a aggro based zombie deck like this Blue black zombie aggro
Would appreciate help on this if you are interested thanks :)

Odric could be a good thing to have, maybe take out a single reflector mage and a single harbinger of the tides?
April 2, 2016 1:54 a.m.
Odric would only do anything if you had Ojutai out. He's the only creature with static abilities Odric will share. Doesn't seem very good to me.

So, I've been looking at the deck. And I like the idea of a transformational sideboard into Esper for Sorin, Grim Nemesis and Ob Nixilis Reignited. Here are my thoughts:
First, for mainboard choices, we would want to establish a mana base that can support black when you side in: so I think taking out 6 Islands and a Plains would allow for 3 Choked Estuary, 2 Sunken Hollow, and 2 Port Town. This gives you 5 Black sources without breaking your White base (actually adds 1 additional). If you really wanted to, you could attempt a Westvale Abbey Flip, but this would only be relevant if you sideboard as I suggest, or for the super late game. Either way, it is still not needed.
For sideboard:-2 Dragonlord Ojutai +2 Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
-3 Talent of the Telepath +3 Grasp of Darkness
-4 Harbinger of the Tides +2 Sorin, Grim Nemesis and 2 Ob Nixilis Reignited
-2 Anticipate +2 To the Slaughter
-2 Disperse +2 Celestial Flare
-2 Swift Reckoning +2 Immolating Glare
This gives you a bit more resiliency should your opponent board in removal for Myth and TITI, while still allowing you to trigger their abilities. With Kalitas, your removal gives you creatures that can provide defense, or lets you go wide. Sorin and Obby Osnix takes the place of your card advantage outlets, while still being very threatening and relevant with their removal, Sorin's life drain, and Obby's ultimate. Reflector is just too good to board out, as it can deal with the pesky vigilance guys and Newlamog. Slaughter can deal with big singular creatures or planeswalkers if you can manage to get a land in the yard (possibly bring in 1 or 2 Evolving Wilds for the delerium trigger?) The shell is still control, and the plan is still the same, but the SB achieves it by different means.
This said, it is a pretty large change, and I understand if you'd like to keep it as is. But it can keep things fresh. One week, you can show up with your original SB, and the next, you can change things up. It can make the deck pretty unpredictable and mess with your opponents.

I didn't think about Talent of the Telepath getting up to three triggers, that's pretty clever. Situational, though.
The only suggestion I could make would be Mirror Mockery. There's always using it on an opponent's creature to dissuade blocking - but using it on Harbinger of the Tides or Reflector Mage gives you the potential to use their EtB effect every turn.
