Hey i like your deck and am building something like it. why not include rackling too? im putting every card with the effect we want in the deck, i found out lilianas caress, megrim and raiders wake are too slow with this so takem out and fill it with paupers cage, skullcage storm world

Hey Addicted2Edh, thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you like the deck. So I used to include Rackling but it got cut because I thought 10 instances of the effect was sufficient. I may consider putting it back in but I prefer non-creature sources for this effect whenever possible and saw Rackling as the weakest of the creatures when compared to Hellfire Mongrel, Lavaborn Muse and Nezumi Shortfang. However, there is a chance that it may be put back in eventually.
Also Paupers' Cage was not included because it only targets a single opponent, just a thing to keep in mind.

Wow Mtg Gatherer lied to me, when you search paupers cage it says each opponent but when u click further it reads target, maybe a flaw, then indeed it will be cut, i do like rackling however because my kicked rite of replication can target it, are you still working on this deck? I cant seem to find a route to go besides rack effects and mass discard, ive thought dragons, reanimator, sacrificial effects so we can abuse mindslicer, what have you tested?
November 4, 2017 2:51 p.m.
Actually, I was wrong, the oracle text says each and oracle text is always the final say. I'm going to put it in soon just need to figure out what to cut, thanks for helping me realize that.
This deck is pretty much done. All of the other ways of playing you've mentioned are viable options but, given Crosis' ability, I believe discard and rack effects are the most unique and efficient way to use this deck.
Mindslicer is a good card but I don't think I have enough draw in this deck to be able to recover from its effects, however, I do see its use

What are your thoughts on Warped Devotion and how are your on hit discards doing for u? Ive tried only one specter, blazing, but was kind of underwhelming maybe because i was in a 4pod? I dont know, i really like the discard theme also, maybe ill try again with more creatures that discard.

I ended cutting alot of things, even cut waste not because when they were in top deck mode they were no longer discarding so it sat and sat, also geths grimoire, i feel there is better draw, like phyrexian arena/consecrated sphinx i added warped devotion and plan on adding alot more bounce effects some pillowfort cards as well

Warped Devotion makes a lot of sense if you're able to get them in topdeck mode fast. Personally, I like the design of the specters and my meta is very creature-heavy so it's very important to have some blockers up at all times.
Phyrexian Arena and Consecrated Sphinx are both cards I own but run in different decks. Minus the mana base, this deck was designed to be relatively cheap so I've not included them in this build, if you're going with bounce and pillowfort have you considered Dissipation Field?

Ive added Dissipation Field, No Mercy Propaganda Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs and now that im runing warped devotion im adding more bounce and Storm Cauldron Mana Breach to go along with my Painful Quandary Mind's Dilation Decree of Silence its alot different now and am thinkin of putting Kaervek the Merciless back in i do like your enchantment pain reflection and am considering it
November 5, 2017 1:53 p.m.
Pain Reflection is definitely one of my favorite cards in the deck. It gets tones of use because it triggers for each creature that deals 3 or more damage to an opponent.

Yeah im definatly thinking about it but am leaning more towards warped devotion now, im starting to look more and more like a stax deck but instead of making people sac things i have them bounce them, have you got to play this deck recently how is it working out? Im hyped about running blizzard spectres hes like the best spectre for my deck

It definitely works, I won my last game against last week against an Ur-Dragon deck and a Roon deck by using burn and Rage Reflection. For the kill, I stole the Ur-Dragon with Nicol Bolas and killed him with his own commander.

Man, my meta is full of Scion's atm, and a Nicol Bolas so its double trouble, i'm not sure if i can keep up, sometime i get rack effects and no discards' which leads to me just sitting around with useless cards until i draw my cabal conditioning and stick a permanent down.

what are your thoughts of adding a Scarab God to the deck to take advantage of your opponents discarding creatures into graveyards?
July 20, 2018 12:57 a.m.
Hey Davincey, that's a great idea! I'd love to add him in, I think I've just been waiting for his price to go down but he would be a welcomed addition to the deck! Thanks for the suggestion!

How has the Scarab God worked out in the deck so far?Hc_Clan

I like him! He's a good Mana sink when I'm running low on gas and makes quality blockers. Not exactly on-theme but the value is solid.

Heyo. I really enjoy your style of deck here. I also built a Crosis deck since I thought he was a super cool commander. You mentioned your meta is creature heavy, similar to mine, I wonder how much hate your meta runs? I opted for less discard oriented creatures and for dragons to draw hate to allow for my discard side to ramp up and start wheeling and dealing. It just seems if your meta plays alot of board wipes, targeted removals then the deck is considerably slower. Granted you have done alot of play testing so would be interested to hear!

Always glad to meet another Crosis fan.
Most decks in my meta run between 6-8 removal spells and 3-5 wipes. Originally, this deck had lots of specters such as Hypnotic Specter and Scythe Specter. However, I realized these creatures don't often get a lot of value before they get removed. As a result, I've tried to diversify how I make my opponents discard cards: some ETB-effects, some saboteurs that have extra value like Liliana's Reaver, spells, abilities, etc. in an effort to make the deck more resilient. One con of this resiliency is that the deck does become slower. Luckily, this is EDH, where there is some room to play slower decks -- so long as your not playing across from a Narset, Teferi/chain veil combo and the like.
I'd be curious to know what dragons you use in your build, if you don't mind sharing.

Hc_Clan My meta sounds pretty similar to yours, and that one of the issues I was trying to solve, how to get value out of cards before they get removed. I do play against a Hivelord sliver deck, a narset, an alesha stax combo, and other similar either lockdown decks or exile all your fun stuff decks. However our meta has enough different decks where no one deck is the most powerful.
I'll share my deck link, but also I'll give some of my favorite dragons.( Discarding Dragon Specters )Dragon Mage + Nesting Dragon + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Thunderbreak Regent are probably my favorite dragon cards. I run a large amount of wheels in my deck to try to get reoccurring value from Megrim + Liliana's Caress and the like. Most of my other dragons are the token creator ones for more value if they can stay on the field. Usually the token creating ones receive the most hate--which allows me to plop down a Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind and wheel 5 times and close the game out.
Hopefully this help!

I've posted a comment on the deck that you linked. It looks like a blast to play
October 2, 2018 3:53 p.m.
You could run [Angrath, the Flame-Chained]! He would work well because his +1 makes each opponent not only discard cards, but lose life too. His minus ability(-8) could also deal big damage. Only downside I potentially see is you playing against delve, or laboritory maniac, as well as it doesn’t combo well with nihil spell bomb
October 8, 2018 10 a.m.
I will admit that I have never considered Angranth for the deck. I feel like 5 mana for the +1 isn't worth it and in my meta planeswalkers don't tend to stick around for very long. Nicol Bolas is able to stick around longer because he usually finds a way to defend himself either by removing my opponents creatures or going further and taking them under my control. I appreciate the suggestion. However, I'm not sure if it'll work for my meta.

This is definitely my favorite discard/control/burn style deck i've come across so far. +1 from me. Your deck looks great and has given me a lot of ideas. I built a Crosis discard deck with stuff I have lying around: Crosis, Hand of Blood. I'd love your opinion on if it looks like I am cutting the right cards in the "Chopping Block" section and any advice on Maybeboard cards to pick up. Or any other suggestions you have. Thanks!

You say redundancy, I hear consistency. It seems to be strictly better than Rackling in this build so I will make the change! Thank you for your suggestion!
