Ive been looking at things i could be running instead of Desecration Demon , but Im not sure Abyssal Persecutor is what Im looking for. I guess i can see the usefulness of Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth , I may add 1x. Im definitely bigger on Read the Bones than Sign in Blood though, for 1 more mana you get access to the top 4 of your library, I feel i will benefit from bones more.

Cool deck! You use a heap of my favourite cards, and I can always get behind Surgical Extraction !

Abyssal Persecutor is just like Des Demon except he doesn't get locked down he just kills. 4 mana for a 6/6 flying trampling beast.

lol sorry for triple commenting but I was looking at this again. I honestly think, u and me have the 2 strongest mono-black modern decks on this site. Both fit the Rock archetype, hopefully others catch on and mono-black rock becomes a competitive thing.

@APPLE01DOJ Im sorry man, i see the usefulness of the persecutor, trample is awesome, but I honestly hate his win/lose ability. Its the opposite of what I want, and I dont want to use removal on my own creatures. I want to flash in Lich's Mirror though, any ideas?

Im actually considering splashng blue for snapcaster mage and cyclonic rift.

I tried splashing blue for a few things like Creeping Tar Pit but ultimately came to the conclusion that it was stronger without unfair. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Green splash makes sense since Abrupt Decay and Maelstrom Pulse hit enchantments and artifacts. Things that can typically give black a hard time. While I think both snapcaster and cyclonic would do well in your deck, what would you take out for them? they don't seem to offer your deck anything it can't take care of on it's own. I think your deck will probably be stronger as is rather than removing copies of already useful cards for other useful cards that will be slightly tougher to cast.

I accidentally let a Darksteel Forge hit the field the other day, and i had no answer for all his indestructible artifacts. thats why i want cyclonic rift

well you could simple run a watery grave or two main board, and just keep the rift & snapcaster on the SB. how often do you SB in exterprite or all 3 witchbane orbs?

8vomit says... #13

I use the witchbane orbs more than anything else actually, but i dont use the extripate frequently though

Like what ya did with it, +1!!

No deck is going to be able to do everything. Personally I wouldn't splash blue solely to deal with Darksteel Forge . How often do you come up against it anyway? I think you would be better off holding a Thoughtseize until you think they have a forge in hand, or perhaps sideboarding something like Fade into Antiquity . You are running green after all.

Thanks for the +1 Panda213!

@scarmask your probably right, but it would be nace to flashback Thoughtseize if its not in hand, Snapcaster Mage would give me a lot of options with my graveyard, and cyclonic rift will deal with anything indestructible, not just Darksteel Forge , although Fade into Antiquity would handle that pretty well. Maybe justt splash blue for snapcaster?

I kinda think snapcaster is counter productive dont u want DS to eat your spells in the grave

Demigod of Revenge maybe in the place of Desecration Demon ? It can give you an explosive kill out of nowhere. It also makes your opponent's remove worse.

Toshiro Umezawa could possible fill the roll of snapcaster without a splash.

have you ever thought about adding some Putrefy or sideboarding some Dark Betrayal for an obvious reason..check my b/g vraska deck maybe you like something about it Vraska For The Win

November 13, 2013 5:17 p.m.

8vomit says... #23

Putrefy is not good enough in modern, when theres so many other options available. Its much stronger in standard. Maelstrom pulse fits nicely as my 3 drop removal spot. I dont see what the benefit of dark betrayal would be, as none of my removal demands nonblack creatures. I really appreciate the suggestions though.

How much has Cavern of Souls helped out vs Unfair matches? I think I should add one to my deck.

November 14, 2013 10:03 p.m.

8vomit says... #25

what do you mean by unfair matches? Cavern usually helps me a bunch, since theres several people who play control in my meta. That obliterator has to hit the field.
