This might be classified as an orzhov aggro-control. It has a strong reliance on creatures, but there is also a great deal of removal control via the heroic ability.I'm liking the way this deck has played so far in testing due to its overall versatility and options for not only creature removal, but plainswalkers and enchantments that go by the name of Detention Sphere.
Alright so here is the rundown.
Soldier of the Pantheon just a solid one drop that avoids multicolored nonsense.
Agent of the Fates
throw an enchantment on this dude and lay some people to rest.
Blood Baron of Vizkopa can't be d sphered and can be one heck of a threat
Ethereal Armor attach it to
Fabled Hero
and he gets a +2/+2 right off the bat. If there are more enchantments on the field, you can just keep tacking them on.
Gift of Orzhova
makes any creature a threat, but definitely fabled. Once Sanguine Bond is on the battlefield, you can do a minimum damage of -8 to a player if
Fabled Hero
is blocked or you can do a minimum of -16 if he remains unblocked (-8 from swinging and another -8 from the lifelink triggering Sanguine).
High Priest of Penance is primarily there for removal. I threw in
Pharika's Cure
to destroy him, gain life and remove a target permanent all at once.
Vizkopa Guildmage's primary existence is to act as another sanguine. Trigger her ability twice and that fabled/gift combo we spoke of earlier becomes -24.
Gray Merchant of Asphodel because gary is just a nice guy to have around
Spear of Heliod to pump up creatures, but primarily to remove them if attacked
Whip of Erebos lifelink duh, but also to call back high priest just to be killed again by pharika
Trading Post to boost the economy of the underworld
The majority of the sideboard exists as more removal depending on what the opponent is showing up with. It could probably use the most tweaking out of everything. Overall, I'm really liking how this deck performs. It's simple, fairly inexpensive and allows for multiple forms of removal and life sustain.
If you like it, feel free to +1. If you don't, feel free to comment with any adjustments you find helpful. Thanks for looking!
