This is a control deck. It uses hand disruption, tokens, and removal to survive the early game and starts dropping big threats on T5 and after. I has a backup option for an immediate win against some decks, using Gifts Ungiven to put Unburial Rites + Fatty (Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite OR Iona, Shield of Emeria ) to end the game against small creature decks and mono colored decks.

This deck runs a lot of ones to facilitate Gifts Ungiven unique name requirement in case the combo Fatty/Unburial Rites won’t win the game on turn four and I need to use it for value.

Notable Card Selection:

• Noxious Revival is my only “green card” but is here as a pay 2 life get whatever out of grave. It works wonders in gifts pile- noxious, snapcaster, what you want, value card will ensure you always get what you want and a good card down the road.
  


• Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver was originally in as a budget Lily. She has proven to be her own powerhouse with so many creatures in modern being 4 cmc or less. And helps me grind in control/ midrange matches.
  


• Gideon, Ally of Zendikar works well with my token strategy. I rarely make him a creature unless i know its safe. Most often its make a dude or anthem which is great with a bunch of souls on the field.
  


• Elspeth, Sun's Champion is amazing in the late game spitting out 3 chumps a turn and having a wrath for high powered creatures is great. Many of the fair creature decks can't run through the chumps to get to her or me. She provides a late game inevitability like grave titan without having to worry about path and i can wrath without losing her if they get the upper hand on the board.
  


• Anguished Unmaking is my catch all removal until esper gets something like Abrupt Decay and Maelstrom Pulse

Unburial Combo

• Unburial Rites + Fatty (Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite| Iona, Shield of Emeria | Grave Titan)
  You use rule:
  

  701.14b If a player is searching a hidden zone for cards with a stated quality, such as a card with a certain card type or color, that player isn’t required to find some or all of those cards even if they’re present in that zone.

  
  This allows you to force 2 cards into your grave at instant speed. So you cast Gifts Ungiven at their endstep, then on your turn you flashback Unburial Rites to reanimate your desired fatty.

High Value Card Package

• Snapcaster Mage + Noxious Revival + Desired Card + Value Card

Any 1 card can be tutored for using the Snapcaster Mage + Noxious Revival as they either give you that card out right or you use Noxious Revival to recur it, or Snapcaster Mage on your upkeep to cast Noxious Revival for your desired card. I generally toss in a Lingering Souls as the last card in this pile for extra value.


Wrath Package

• Day of Judgment + Supreme Verdict + Wrath of God + Value Card

You will always be able to wrath on cue with Gifts. Either they give you 2 wraths or wrath and a value card (usually lingering souls)


Crumble to Dust Package

• Ghost Quarter + Surgical Extraction + Noxious Revival + Snapcaster Mage

This package lets you do a pseudo Crumble to Dust. Play GQ then use Surgical Extraction to remove all copies of that land.

This deck was originally inspired by a Polymorph+ Unburial Rites combo deck. I've since moved away from the polymorph as it limited my wincons. It was a really fun card and did win me some games though.
