Howdy! I've been looking at your deck for other ideas for my own Jarad EDH deck and I happen to like your updates and feedback on what has been happened. Anyway, I wanted to share with you some combos that I've been using. I'll tell you why I have those cards in the deck:
Call of the Wild + Haunted Crossroads(These two cards can be fun, but troublesome annoying and mean to other players if you have Kokusho and Jarad in play. Like I said, very mean, but something to think about.)
Gutter Grime + Phyrexian Altar + Reassembling Skeleton(1. Sac skeleton to the altar for black, an ooze token EtB and Gutter Grime gets a counter.2. Sac the token for black, now you have 1 black mana.3. Pay 2 black to bring back the skeleton into play tapped.4. Repeat the process!
This will get you an inf/inf ooze token in the battlefield and use Jarad to sac the ooze for how much need to defeat your opponents)
Grave Pact + Necrogenesis + Ashnod's Altar(Sac a creature for the Ashnod's altar to produce 2 mana; each opponent sacs a creature because of Grave Pact; pay the 2 mana to remove a creature from the grave from the game and produce a token into play. Repeat the process!
I figured if you want to get rid of creatures that are killing you in the game, you can simply get rid of them by exile in the grave.)
Like I said, something to think about if you're interested and friendly advise as you gave it to us in your deck. Thanks and good luck to you and the deck.

Thank you very much for the suggestions! Sadly, most of these are too slow for the kind of people I play against. The Call of the Wild combo is pretty sweet for sneaking big creatures in, but I would have to have Jarad on board and protected to make good use of the combo. Gravepact would not be very useful outside of the combo since I don't play very many creatures in the deck. The other combo, making the huge ooze, is pretty sweet but 3 pieces are typically hard to assemble and keep on board.

if you need more card draw for cheap $$, what about Sign in Blood and Night's Whisper ?

oh and what about Cabal Coffers ? Yea you have only 9 swamps but when Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth hits... makes it seem like a good idea.

If I could consistently get both Urborg and Coffers out I would run that combo. Right now I use crop rotation to go find Urborg or Reliquary tower. I used to run Sign in Blood and it never did too much for me. I'll probably throw it back in the list to see what I can do with it. Thanks for the suggestions!

You could also go for Expedition Map to search for lands.

Expedition Map is pretty cool but its just too slow for this deck. I run Crop Rotation to combat land destruction (screw you Strip Mine ) and fetch the land I need at the time. If there was another card that did the same as Crop Rotation with a similar cost, I would think about putting Cabal Coffers into the deck. I have enough ramp that it is actually kind of useless.

For a Jarad deck I'm surprise you're not using Hatred . Sure it's quite the gamble but considering one-on-one seems to be this decks structure I would think it would be worth it if Phyrexian Devourer failed in some way.

Hatred is risky in a counterspell-heavy meta, and it is also expensive to cast. I don't know if this deck would really benefit from it as much as it should.

I will definitely consider it a last resort. It's understandable the gamble it takes considering that this deck looks like it isn't aggressive. Something like the new Kalonian Hydra may give something opponents will worry about and save it and Phyrexian Devourer from counterspells via Savage Summoning . What about Scavenging Ooze ? It maybe slow to pump up to sac to Jarad but it keeps opponents from getting what they want with Snapcaster Mage and Eternal Witness .

Kalonian Hydra would be bad. It's a small creature and has to sit there for a considerable amount of time before it becomes a threat.

This deck is very aggressive, being able to untap with 6 mana on turn 3 is a good thing. It may not look threat heavy but it is able to ramp and play other spells which are relevant in the early turns. If my Phyrexian Devourer
is countered, I have ways of getting it out of my graveyard or using Lord of Extinction
to win as well.
Playing this deck has been a lot of 1v1 testing but it is designed to do well in multiplayer as well.
Now Hatred
, what it boils down to is the mana cost is too expensive. Plus I would need a creature whose power + my life total was greater than any other players at the table. Considering I run a lot of "Draw x lose x" cards, it would not be beneficial and I would not be able to get there.

Komododragon It searches for a black mana, which on turn 1 is an Overgrown Tomb and soon to be Bayou or just basic swamps. I also run Misty Rainforest and Windswept Heath to get forests.

It thins the deck and with a play extra land ability as well as Crucible of Worlds it allows me to play the maximum number of lands each turn while not depleting my hand. They also have synergy with Lotus Cobra , netting me 2 mana when I play and crack a fetch land.

While fetch lands aren't optimal in a 2 color deck, they certainly help. They are fuel for Deathrite Shaman on top of everything else previously stated. In the near future I will be getting Bloodstained Mire , Wooded Foothills , and hopefully Polluted Delta to fill out the fetches, and then a Bayou to also search for.

Most black EDH decks run Vampiric Tutor you could check my Mono-black Edh deck for some other ideas

Have you considered Snuff Out for a free kill card? Or is non-black too limiting?
Smith_and_Tonic says... #1
Those cards aren't actually ideal in this deck. Sure I can Natural Order for Lord of Extinction but that is the only thing for value. Being restricted to green creatures is bad. Also Tooth and Nail is not ideal in this deck since I can't make infinite mana from casting it. It would be 9 mana to go get 2 creatures (hopefully my win conditions) but then I would have to cast my general and still have mana to activate his sac. ability.
