Any thoughts on spectral sailor from m20? I think it could replace scryb sprites.

Allergymedsandcats Hey what do you think of Twincast ?
It's almost the same as Narset's Reversal

dhoby87 Reversal has the advantage of letting us bounce our own spell to our hand! It's much, much better.

Recently I challenged a guy (who obviously knew edric is banned in duel but accepted) to a first to 2 duel. His was The Scarab God . G1 I opened with 3 lands and merfolk. On my opp's turn 2 he blew up my BP with Wasteland . I failed to draw 3rd land and had to cast Noxious Revival on my upkeep, which was countered. By the time I could cast Edric it had already been too late; opp cleared w Toxic Deluge and I couldn't outrace his cmdr. G2 opp started with Sol Ring and Seized my Dispel . I began with Dryad Arbor , cast Edric and drew a couple cards. Then, opp cast Vampiric Tutor and Baleful Strix . I drew a couple more and held up Flusterstorm , hoping to chain my turns shortly after. The next thing I knew, opp summoned Massacre Girl . I guess the land count and the Curiosity strategy did hurt.

What do you think of mystic sanctuary for throne of eldraine //Reference: http://mythicspoiler.com/ted/cards/mysticsanctuary.html //? Is it a free warp recursion or is 3 islands too much to hope for?

dhoby87 dododestroyer The only card being tested from throne is the new elf oakhame adversary.

Have you ever used Intuition? Since this deck lacks a lot of tutoring options, wouldn't it be a decent include?
October 1, 2019 11:51 p.m.
@MrDimir, I'm not Allergy, but I probably can help;
There are 3 reasons why Intuition isn't a great idea here;
1) Edric draws like crazy - if it unfolds properly, Edric can easily draw 3-4 cards per turn when not going off and a dozen when going off. This significantly mitigates the need for tutors, so the deck can use those slots for counters, which are far more essential here given our weakness to removal.
2) tutor density is actually fine - Mystical tutor can get us interaction or extra turns, Personal tutor gets us extra turns, GSZ and CropRot are kinda narrow, but fill their niche nicely. The deck also runs fair amount of grave recursion to cover for the lack of tutors by re-using turn spells and interaction.
3) it's not the kind of tutor we want - Intuition is great in decks where you interact with graveyard a lot or when you can assemble winning combo piles. Edric likes to draw his cards. If you dump 3 pieces of interaction, or 3 turn spells, or 2 grave recursion spells and an extra turn spell, that's one card you tutored for, but also 2 more cards you can't draw into any more, which makes going off harder. Also, this deck can't really play a long game. 3cmc or more for anything that isn't Edric or an extra turn spell is a lot and one should think twice before including such cards, even if they're good. At 3 cmc we have Edric (obviously), Druid's repository (which is one of the 2 cards in the deck whose resolution means gg. Throng being the second one) and Eternal witness (not great, for 3cmc is a lot if we want to cast another 5-6cmc spell, but that body that can be relevant + grave recursion directly to hand is a plus).
If you have any more questions, I'm all ears. If Allergy would like to add or correct anything, I'd like to hear the arguments.

yeah those are all great points. I usually do see it in sultai or grixis builds (mostly because they abuse the GY) I really appreciate your feedback!

Great Deck list, was looking for a modern version of this deck and this is it!
Anything from Throne and Core 2020 making it in here? Is Spectral Sailor or Gingerbrute good enough?

Moclord out of all those you mentioned, the only one that is decent for the deck is spectral sailor. I really want people to start testing it.
October 27, 2019 12:10 p.m.
@Allergy - I did some testing with sailor and it did well. 1/1 flier for U isn't a great deal, but the ability to leave U open in interactive meta without sacrificing tempo gained by slamming down attackers is nice. In budget-ish lists it's great, in here I'd maybe play it over Image or Revoker as a meta call

I was thinking Sailor and Mystic Sanctuary. Sanctuary is fetchable and can put an extra turn/counter spell on top so you can set up your draw. I know its not great early tho, so I can see why it may not be good

Moclord: The ETB tapped is generally bad in any competitive deck, especailly a deck which wants to slam down turn 1 weenies/ramp to start getting its beats on. It sees play in standard, because that's all they have, but with more options availalbe it just isn't worth the slot.

I dont like ETB tapped lands generally so I agree, just making sure theres nothing new that Im missing out on

I have also tested Spectral Sailor. It’s felt awkward when you need that faerie or rogue, but in the games you get early Edric hate it’s nice to have the mana sink.

SnarpseTheKlepht Seedtime is bad, much too niche. Edric likes more consistent extra turns. A counterspell is a much more versatile option.
Lotto210_2000 flash and mana sink feel good, but cutting a faerie, rogue or elf for it doesn't really feel great

Have you considered running Harvest Season? I run it in my Edric deck and it does an insane amount of work. If you cast it on turn 3 to 4 before you have enough mana to start chaining your turn spells it gets you to that 7 to 9 mana threshold. If you cast it late-game, after you've started chaining, it does a terrific job of removing all the lands from your deck to more consistently recur Throng and Nexus.

How do you feel about Reap instead of Regrowth or Reclaim? Or is your meta not very B-heavy?
Allergymedsandcats says... #1
MrDimir At 4 mana, we would much rather just play a warp. That card works much better for Najeela.
enpc Yeah it's been talked about a lot. Just not where we want to be. Some people have made good arguments about it as a flex slot for certain creature heavy metas where you need to tutor certain pieces. But in the main list, its a definite no.
