A Step Ahead - Surrak is the New PLAYA!

Commander / EDH* Aggro Competitive RUG (Temur)

hcaselli

After some playing with my beloved Zegana, I think it's time to take a step ahead and try a new competitive French Commander deck.

I thought in using Narset, but I don't like to mimic the hundred of other players in my neighborhood. In a search inside my card boxes, I found a Surrak hidden on "useable Standard" box. So let's go!

At first sight, the deck style looked like the Zegana's Simic Party: ramp -> counter-trolling -> big baddies -> Zegana -> massive draw -> overwhelm. However, with a extra color, I have a bigger spread of creatures and utility cards to use, so I'll try to increase the distance between the big creatures and their support (I tried to optimize the mana cost of bigger creatures because I wanted to tend it to mid-range), but this time I understand how powerful a trampling Eldrazi can be.

Worse: Zegana can enter this party too. And Surrak, unlike Zegana, is uncounterable and make my creatures the same. I think it's material for big rage.
