Behold the majesty that is my Naya Zoo deck.
This deck has been a project for me for a while now, and most likely always will be. I've always had a special place in my heart for this deck, which is why in real life I've foiled it out. This deck is by no means finished, and any and all feedback is welcome.
Here's a breakdown of the deck:
Creatures-
Bygone Bishop
- A 2/3 flyer for 3 is an alright body, but the ability of whenever I cast a creature spell with CMC 3 or less is fantastic in this deck. I'm still currently testing this card, but in theory it should replenish my hand by the time that I need endgame fuel.
Ghor-Clan Rampager - This is a creature that is almost never actually played. I use this card for its Bloodrush ability. Giving an attacking creature +4/+4 at instant speed that can't be countered is huge.
Goblin Guide
- A one mana 2/2 with haste. Its downside is next to nil.
Kird Ape
/
Loam Lion
- Having a 2/3 on turn one is never a challenge when running 4+ of these guys. Makes a great blocker in an Aggro mirror match, and against control creates a cheap threat that will swing in for two damage every turn.
Tarmogoyf - I feel like I shouldn't have to explain this one, but whatever. 'Goyf gets real big real fast. Period.
Tasigur, the Golden Fang - This guy is completely worth running a one-of Blood Crypt. The efficiency that he possesses is astonishing. With all of our burn spells and fetchlands in the graveyard, the most we should ever pay for him would be 2 mana.
Voice of Resurgence - This card is amazing against any deck that plays instants, which is practically all of them. It's also just a pain to kill.
Wild Nacatl - I've been debating whether or not to run this card ever since it was unbanned. Now that I'm splashing white in the deck there is really no reason not to play four of these guys. One mana for a 3/3 is incredibly powerful in any matchup.
Spells-
Atarka's Command
- Since DTK was released, this card has made waves in both Modern and Standard. Being able to choose modes any way you want makes the card incredibly flexible.
Boros Charm - Burn and protection against mass removal in one small package
Lightning Bolt - Great removal or late game finisher.
Lightning Helix - Also good removal/finisher with the added bonus of a bit of lifegain. The extra life comes in handy against other aggro decks and also makes it easier to use fetchlands and shocklands.
Extras-
Blood Crypt - I play a one-of Blood Crypt to splash for Tasigur, the Golden Fang
***I have a question for you guys about Collected Company. Should it stay in the deck? I'm finding that I'm whiffing on the creatures much more than I'd like. Thanks in advance for answering! (currently replaced with
Bygone Bishop
)***
Make sure you give this a +1 so that others can see it!
