Welcome to A Symphony of Spellcraft, a deck that revolves around the power of cycling, to trigger Astral Drift + Astral Slide to control the board in unexpected ways, or to protect your pieces with blinking.
This deck is all about cycling cards to trigger Astral Drift, Astral Slide, Lightning Rift and Shark Typhoon, which let you blink your own creatures or your opponents’ permanents, deal damage to any target, and create flying sharks.
Some of the benefits of cycling your cards are:
Curator of Mysteries: Scry 1 every time you cycle or discard another card.
Drannith Stinger: Deal 1 damage to each opponent every time you cycle another card.
Nimble Obstructionist: Counter an activated or triggered ability when you cycle it.
You can also interact with your opponents with Neutralize, which can counter a spell or cycle for 2 mana, and Hieroglyphic Illumination which lets you draw two cards or cycle for 2. Your main win condition is Zenith Flare, which can deal a ton of damage equal to the number of cards with a cycling ability in your graveyard. You can also win by overwhelming your opponents with sharks or flying creatures.
This deck is very flexible and adaptable, as you can cycle away cards that are not useful in a given situation and draw into more relevant ones. You can also disrupt your opponents’ plans by blinking their creatures, planeswalkers, artifacts or enchantments at instant speed. You can also protect your own permanents from removal or damage by blinking them.
This deck is not very expensive to build, as most of the cards are commons or uncommons. The most expensive cards are the lands, but you can replace them with cheaper alternatives if you want. The deck is also very fun to play, as you get to cycle a lot of cards and see different outcomes every game.
