A wave of fun.

Sideboard

My deck for FNMs. It is brilliantly fun to play, and by all reports is pretty fun to play against. Probably not going to Top 8 a GP, but consistently finds its way to the top 4 at FNMs.

So it often plays one of three ways which is delightfully confusing for opponents to sideboard against.

  1. It can combo off as early T2 (with an incredible amount of luck) and start chaining Genesis Waves to put my deck on the table, get haste with Sarkhan Vol, and attack for a lot.

  2. It can play like an odd tempo-y deck, in which I find mostly dorks, BTEs, and Eternal Witnesses, and just keep swinging.

  3. It can become rather midrange building its way in to prime times and primal command, and beating face.

Currently the sideboard is built to deal with four main problems.

  1. Scooze for graveyard strategies.

  2. Rec Sage for tron/affinity/anything that plays annoying artifacts and enchantments.

  3. Thrun and Shusher for particularly controlly match ups.

  4. Thragtusk for burn and things that hit my life total quickly.

Combust was there for twin, but I feel there may be better options.

I find this much more fun than any other genesis wave build I've read/tested, and it doesn't get completely screwed by missing pieces. It struggles a bit with particularly fast decks as it doesn't have much to slow opponents, but it does perform with a decent win rate against control/midrange/some combos.

So yes, I am keen for suggestions and thoughts on this deck: particularly smoothing some edges, ways to slow down aggro/burn, and opportunities to interact/prevent combos.
