A Standard deck that I've been working on and tweaking for a while now. I didn't really care for Abzan at first, but they've grown on me and now I really want to get this deck and try it out at FNM. Anyway, without further ado, let's get to the deck!
NOTE! I will update things as I continue to test and tweak things in the deck.
Premise
Get low-drop Creatures onto the Battlefield, quickly beef them up with ridiculous amounts of +1/+1 Counters, and then attack your Opponent for excessive amounts of damage. In my tests, I've managed to have multiple 15/15 Creatures on the field by Turn 6 fairly regularly.
Creatures
Fleecemane Lion: A 3/3 for only 2 Mana that can gain Indestructible and Hexproof for 5 Mana? Yes please! I absolutely love this kitty cat. Easy to get out early and hard for your Opponent to get rid of, ESPECIALLY in this deck.
Polukranos, World Eater: He's absolutely beautiful. A 5/5 for 4 Mana whose Monstrous acts as removal AND adds +1/+1 Counters. Pooky's not needed for the deck, but he's a fantastic Creature to fill the 4 CMC Slot.
Nylea, God of the Hunt: The main problem I've run into with this deck is that; having super-beefy Creatures means nothing if your Opponent has infinite blockers/chump-blockers to negate all your attacks. Well...Nylea gives all your Creatures Trample. Problem solved! :D
Planeswalkers
Ajani, Mentor of Heroes: Here's a breakdown of what Ajani does for this deck:
+1: Ajani: "You get a Counter, and you get a Counter, everybody gets a Counter!!!" (This ability + Hardened Scales :D)
+1: Ajani: "Short on Land draws, huh? Here, why don't you Scry 4 and draw a free Creature, Aura, or Planeswalker while your at it?" (I know it's not the exact same thing as Scry, but its very similar in purpose)
-8: Ajani: "Here, have 100 Life."
Ajani, Mentor of Heroes is this deck's best friend.
Liliana Vess: Lili's my tutor, she teaches me things. :D Not at all needed for this deck. I really only use her to search for cards I need with her -2.
Enchantment
Hardened Scales: I cannot even begin to express my love of this card. I truly wish Return to Ravnica was still Standard so I could build an Evolve deck utilizing this card. A 1-Drop Enchantment whose effect does indeed stack if you control more than one of them. In a Counter deck such as this? I'm at a loss for words..
Instants
Bile Blight: I was looking for some cheap removal and I remembered that I have 3 Bile Blight FNM Promos. :P Not at all a bad card. It isn't stopped by Indestructible or Hexproof, and can give Goblin Rabblemaster decks the middle finger. (I will most likely end up Main decking all 3 of them)
Abzan Charm
: Removal, card draw, AND +1/+1 Counters. Enough said. :)
My Sideboard mostly consists of cards that are already in the deck that I'm considering adding more of them Main.
The Maybeboard is all stuff that either was in the deck at some point and I took it out, or stuff that I was/am considering adding.
Any and all suggestions welcome! Like I said above, as I think of more information to add, stuff to say, etc. I'll add it here.
