I was watching Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix recently, and as Bellatrix Lestrange was escaping the Wizarding World's most infamous prison, I started chuckling to myself when I realized Azkaban sounds so similar to Abzan. At that moment, the idea for this deck was born! It's purely a themed deck, so I'm going to try to keep the budget low. There are a few pricier cards that I think theme perfectly with this deck, but I have not decided whether or not to use them. This deck is just meant to be a fun themed deck, plus it will be good practice brewing with a budget. I'm setting my budget arbitrarily to $50. The few pricier cards I'm considering will be kept in the Maybeboard until I decide to use them.

Now, here's what I'm thinking.

Dementors

Azkaban is a prison. It's guests do not stay willingly. So, who guards the prison? Dementors. So, what creature type best resembles a Dementor? I believe that would be shades. Dread Shade. Drifting Shade. Veiled Shade. These creatures will defend Azkaban, as well as punish any inmate causing trouble. Speaking of defending...

Defenders

Prison guards' primary goal is to keep inmates from escaping, but perhaps they could also be viewed as keeping unwanted criminals out as well. In that regard, they could also be viewed as defenders. I think all my defenders should literally be walls like Amaranthine Wall and Fortified Rampart, even Guardian Zendikon. Ideally, my walls will serve additional purposes, like Dazzling Ramparts. And for added use, maybe my walls can attack as well with Assault Formation and Rolling Stones, even Animate Wall. Why not? It's the Wizarding World! Anything is possible!
