So this deck has undergone a whole bunch of changes and thank you everyone for the suggestions!

I decided to make some adjustments that really turned it into a different deck, most obvious of all that it is now an Abzan deck and no longer a Selesnya deck.

My decision there was that I was overlooking two things, one being that Preeminent Captain is one of the heavy hitters of this deck. His ability to chuck out soldiers when he attacks is just great. Two is that abzan has the best value soldiers in the format right now with Anafenza and Armament Corps. Being able to chuck them out with the captain and still have mana open is just great.

This deck is a lot of fun to pilot and pretty linear. Hardened Scales get's abused by Ordeal of Nylea and heroic creatures like Fabled Hero Favored Hoplite and Phalanx Leader . Preeminent Captain is there to keep your field populated with soldiers for free. High Sentinels of Arashin love all the counters and Abzan Falconer makes sure everyone with counter love gets a free bird to ride. Armament Corps and Anafenza, the Foremost both are there begging to be tossed onto the battlefield to give counters and do damage.

Ordeal of Nylea does double duty in this deck, putting counters on creatures and allowing you to grab 2 basics that you might need. Defiant Strike is an easy heroic proc card and efficient card draw which will keep you stocked hopefully with soldiers. Feat of Resistance can protect your creature or get your creature through a color if need be. Ajani Steadfast provides a nice distraction to your opponent while also allowing you to mass buff or tick up to one nasty creature for a turn. Never got his ultimate off, but I can imagine it's lights out.

I am a casual player by nature, this deck is mostly me indulging myself because I loved the heroic mechanic so much from the Theros block. The deck is fun and I am hoping the Abzan traits make it more of a threat. Open to suggestions on how to make it better, on a budget though as I am not a competitive standard player by any means.
