Changes since last time...
R1: 2-0 vs. Jeskai Control (PWs + PFire)
Game 1: I was on the draw with a great hand that only lacked a mana accelerator. I had turn 1 Mother of Runes which was plowed into a turn 2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben which ate Force of Will. I had a 2nd Thalia turn 3 which stuck and I wasted a land. I just kept playing Knight of the Reliquary (when he killed them) until he died.
I boarded in Choke, Thoughtseize, and Veil of Summer for 1 Noble Hierarch, 2x Swords to Plowshares, Knight of Autumn, Ramunap Excavator (he ran Arcum's Astrolabe), and Qasali Pridemage.
Game 2: My opponent had to mull to 6. I kept a pretty good hand which included Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Sylvan Library, and Choke. While my opponent cantripped, I played a Green Sun's Zenith for Dryad Arbor. I played a turn 2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. When it stuck, I knew my opponent was in trouble. I followed up with Choke followed by Sylvan Library. I missed my first Library trigger but my opponent could not deal with the advantage.
I think I got lucky here. This matchup should be horrible.
R2: 1-2 vs. Dimir Shadow
Game 1: I kept a great hand on the play and my opponent had to mulligan. I had a turn 1 Bird of Paradise into turn 2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Wasteland although the Thalia ate a Force of Will. I figured out the matchup when my opponent fetched a Watery Grave. My turn 3 Sanctum Prelate ate Daze but I finally started getting there with a Knight of the Reliquary and I had answers for the Death's Shadow of my opponent. I didn't see any Delver of Secrets
Flip but I assumed it was in there.
I boarded in the Veil of Summer and Choke only for the Knight of Autumn, Collector Ouphe, Gaddock Teeg, and Qasali Pridemage
Game 2: I kept a questionable hand that had a Plains, Dryad Arbor, Mother of Runes and a bunch of gas in Green Sun's Zenith, 2x Knight of the Reliquary, Choke. It was a bit loose against a deck I knew ran Wasteland but I figured it was ok on the draw and Mom could protect the Arbor assuming she stuck. This plan did not work. Mom stuck but I had to play the Arbor on turn 2. On turn 3 I had a fetchland which ate Stifle and my Zenith for 1 got Dazed. I didn't draw another land before dying.
Game 3: I kept what I thought was a pretty good hand in Karakas, Forest, 2x Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Knight of the Reliquary, Choke and Scavenging Ooze. I didn't see a 3rd land before dying.
R3: 1-2 vs. RUG Delver
I knew this player and knew what he was on. Super nice guy and I always enjoy our matchups.
Game 1: I was on the draw and I had to mulligan. My opponent had tons of threats and despite using multiple Swords to Plowshares and an Abrupt Decay on Young Pyromancer they started to run away with it. I ended up not being able to deal with the pressure between Delver of Secrets
Flip and Tarmogoyf.
I boarded the same as last round.
Game 2: I had to mulligan again but I had a pretty good draw with Knight of the Reliquary and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben although no turn 1 play. My opponent established a Delver of Secrets
Flip that I couldn't really deal with. I ended up using Plague Engineer to reduce it's power but I was able to get there with two Knight of the Reliquary at 1 life.
Game 3: My opponent had a really fast draw on the play. They had turn 1 Delver of Secrets
Flip into turn 2 Delver of Secrets
Flip. They used Brainstorm to make sure both Delvers flipped on turn 3 and started the beats. I never really stabilized. I made a play error this game and I could have nearly stabilized by using Knight of the Reliquary to get a Blast Zone to kill the Delvers. However, I was already at 7 at that point and my opponent had additional threats and a Submerge for the Knight. I'm pretty sure it didn't made the difference in the game, but I shouldn't miss these plays.
R4: Bye
I played a couple practice rounds against a Bant Miracles player. This is probably among the absolute worst matchups for my deck and it felt really bad. I did take 1 of 3 games off the back of Thalia, Guardian of Thraben into Gaddock Teeg into Knight of the Reliquary.
Overall
The deck felt pretty good and I'm not sure I'd change anything in the main deck. Ramunap Excavator is probably closest to the ax. The sideboard felt pretty good but perhaps too geared toward beating combo. Perhaps trying to fit in ~2 Path to Exile would be worthwhile.
