Enchantment (1)

Instant (1)

Once upon a time in a forest that lurked just on the outskirts of the over populated city of Meta, rested a dormant refuge for lingering endangered species of many shapes and sizes. The canopy that enveloped the creatures was a patient, protective, and powerful species of oak. They raised the creations as their own and breathed life into them allowing them to prosper amongst a city that was hellbent on raping and plundering the land.

One day the sanctuary for refuge was awoken and death and pain came knocking on the door. The elder of the forest Doran, the Siege Tower realized their peaceful land was in danger. The once beautiful land they called home was threatened by fierce flames and titanic rushes of assaulting forces. They had no choice. The time was now and they needed to act fast. Doran gathered some of his closest allies and began formulating a defense. He knew that there could be no peace without bloodshed. Until nature claims its rightful place basking in the sunlight, it will have to quench its thirst from the blood of the fallen enemies that dare challenge the power of The Abzan Fangorn Forest.

Thanks for taking time to check out my deck and I hope you enjoyed the short!

If you are a fan of gaining life while playing a game of attrition until you assemble one of your many win conditions this might be the deck for you.

Treefolk Harbinger acts as a tutor for Doran or missing forest lands (including Dryad Arbor )

Nyx-Fleece Ram provides early defense and life gain to make fetches and thoughtseize hurt less, later provides a nice beat stick to swing at everyones face in the room.

Scavenging Ooze does his job pumping himself, netting life, and deflating opposing strategies (delve, goyf, etc.)

Doran, the Siege Tower the reason to play the deck is who is going to turn all of your creatures on and allow you to make quick work leading into turns 4 and 5.

Siege Rhino is here for the late game beats and 6 point life swing when entering. I originally wanted to add a whip of erebos to abuse his effect, but I feel like it'd slow the deck down and make it less effective overall.

Alternate Win-ConsElspeth, Knight-Errant giving wings to your giant creatures should make it pretty difficult for your opponent to do anything much longer. If her ultimate goes off they should pretty much scoop. She also can protect herself on the ground level.

Batterskull Good card is Good can be handled by one of your creatures if need be.

Interaction:This deck offers 1/4 of its girth to interacting with the opponent in removal of permanents or hand hate which can be ditched later to fuel Liliana of the Veil

Maelstrom Pulse is an all-star especially in the Tron matchup because Karn is annoying. I'm MDing 2 as I playtest it may move to 3 for now I'm thinking 1 in the SB might be a good idea.

Inquisition - Painless hand hate which allows us to remove key interruption in decks so we can land our trumps or gets rid of a threat-light hand completely, this card is certainly great for us because we're looking to swing hard on T3 when Doran hits.

Thoughtseize - brings the love to combo and bigger walkers and spells we don't want to hit.

Everything else is pretty well spoken for in its card text and attrition value. I do realize this deck wouldn't lose power if I added 4 of Goyf, but I don't have the budget for that beast yet. As it stands I believe this deck has the ability to rock the opponent as is.

Sideboard notes:

Drown in Sorrow is where I want to be against Delver decks so siding out your Liliana's in place of DiS would be my move we can clear their whole board while not even scratching ours. It also plays friendly in other matchups and the added scry is lovely.

Void and Sanctity as a split is very on purpose because they cover your stump in various matchups. If you start with Sanctity and follow with ram it'll be hard for any Red deck to even think about what to do. Void is another Delver hate card, no need for treasure cruise. Ooze also helps keep their Grave in check and grabs lightning blot attention before our face does which is time. time=cards=advantage.

Let me know what you guys think and if you'd do anything differently. I have been considering the uses of Setessan Tactics and Unflinching Courage in the build but still remain impartial.

Updates Add

Played a few games and I'm thinking about maybe making some room for 2 Abzan Charm it does a lot that the deck could benefit from especially the draw.
