Creature (4)

Sorcery (4)

This is arguably one of the grindiest decks in the modern format, thriving in the lategame with so much inevitability. The key card that enables this is Haakon, Stromgald Scourge , who may seem innocuous at first but is incredibly powerful.

Haakon allows Knight of the Reliquary and Nameless Inversion (as well as some sideboard options) to be cast from your graveyard when in play, which allows us to use our resources much more efficiently.

Some versions of the deck run Stinkweed Imp as another dredge engine and to block flyer as well as being effective against Abzan's threats such as Tarmogoyf, however I want to try Bloodghast in that spot to make the deck slightly more aggressive.

There are notable Abzan 'staples' missing from this list, which is for a very good reason, as all of the cards in the list must be exceptionally good at their job, such as Abrupt Decay or usable or have an impact from the graveyard, such as Lingering Souls and all of the creatures.

Mutilate is currently being used over Damnation for budget reasons, but I feel could serve the same purpose in what is essentially a mono-black deck, especially with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
