Any time! Cool deck. I'm glad Eldritch Evolution finally has a home.

Chasmolinker Thanks for saying that! Means a lot to me! I have a ton of updating to do on the description though! Also, I just noticed after visiting your profile right now that you had created that Jund Midrange deck! I up-voted it earlier while browsing other decks and didn't even notice it was the same person that commented on my deck! lol Love your deck! :P I was play testing it against mine a couple days ago haha

Nice. I finally got to play it at my LGS yesterday. It didn't do so great, but I also played some fast decks. Tron and scapeshift. I will test out your deck and see what happens. Abzan is really powerful right now.

Ahh yea fair enough. Midrange really hurts against those decks...I have had soooo much trouble with scapeshift with this deck. I think it's pretty much just a loss unless I can gain infinite life before they do what scapeshift does... Then again, haven't played this updated version of my deck at my lgs...

I like the addition of Thragtusk. Really helps in the grindy match-ups. I did some testing with it and the matches could have probably gone either way. Pretty grindy. Grafdigger's Cage locked out the combos in the deck. Didn't get any of the Reclamation Sages or the 2 Abrupt Decay after board. I think Painful Truths or some type of card advantage is needed for match-ups like Jund or Grixis where discard is prevalent. I got stuck in topdeck mode pretty quickly and drew into lands, thragtusk, and a couple of birds. I might try it against my eldrazi build, (I'll have to re-add it to my profile). It's definitely got what it takes. Abzan/Jund/Grixis matches are always really close.

Yea, that's what I was finding too when I play tested with your deck. It was extremely grindy... card draw would definitely help a ton but I have no clue where I'd fit it in.... Also yea, holy I totally forgot about how much Grafdigger's Cage hurts this deck...

That is good to hear for sure though! Side question, did you get color locked? I haven't changed up lands since update so need to figure out how much I need to do so.

Reclamation Sage and/or Abrupt Decay would have done the job had I drawn one in time. What do you usually side out? If you keep siding out a certain card I would drop it for some sort of card advantage. Nothing jumps out at the moment besides maybe IoK or Thoughtseize

Good point! Uhm hmm.... Man hard choice, I guess putting in Dark Confidant would work? or like Phyrexian Arena (Not sure if modern legal...)?

Yeah they work too. Bob has skyrocketed in price a bit. I got mine for $30 ea. I think he's at $40-45 now

Yea... Bob is like $48 now... But like it'd be useful to have him in the deck...

nuts4tennis13 I do like chord and that it is an instant but by using it I lose the utility that sacing some of my creatures provides. I will keep it in mind when play testing for sure though to see what situations it'd be better in and when I'd prefer it over Evo! Thanks for the suggestion!

I like it. I run an almost similar list, it's angel chord. Why not run Chord of Calling? Since you're gunning for a toolbox style of play. You run enough bodies to make it viable.

Shay789 The reason I'm using evo is because it helps to give value out of the creatures that want to be sacrificed and also because it lets me search for exactly the card I want instead of hoping it's in the top 6 cards. I've found when playing this deck that it's more helpful to get the right answer to an opposing deck than to flood and hope for combo pieces or rhinos.
Heretic_Dragoon Glad you like it! Chord is awesome and I love the card. I haven't done enough testing with it but losing the sac effect hurts a little with this deck as it leaves only Viscera Seer to sac my creatures. That said, using Chord would up the amount of cards that Witness could hit... Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely do more testing with it!

Have you tested Dark Confidant? It might be bad because of your curve, but since you gain life it might work.

Penthoplayer Good idea! I will definitely try it out, I've been looking for a way to get some card draw in the deck and that would definitely do the job! Thanks for the suggestion!

No problem. I'd usually advocate for the lesser-known Dark Tutelage instead, but you are going for creatures, and your curve is already questionably high.

Penthoplayer Thats fair, I've been thinking about using Phyrexian Arena actually but I dont know what I'd swap out for it... I think I really need the card draw though so maybe it'd be in as a 2 of and I take out maybe 2 of Finks or Voice of Resurgence or maybe 1 of each?

Obzedat should come out regardless. 5 mana, including double of two colors in a three color deck is a bit much. It's also why I think Tutelage is better than Arena. In 3+ colors, it's better to have lower colored requirements.

Penthoplayer Yea that's fair, he is back out. I just love the card lol... Tutelage is certainly much easier to cast and I do have a decent amount of lifegain but the getting hit by a 5 cmc card is gonna hurt with it. I'll try out both Tutelage and Arena and see how each works out. It'll be interesting to see if the 1 less black for more life cost is gonna be more of a pay off or not. This deck is mostly 1 and 3 drops so the life loss should be fine. Question is... how many and what do I take out? Maybe running 3 and taking out 2 Voice and 1 Finks or vice versa?
GrandRoyal says... #1
Chasmolinker Yea! I love anguished unmaking as a card but as you said, can't find anything to cut for it. Even in sideboard.... It's funny you suggest it cause I actually used to have it in sideboard too but not listed on this site cause I was still figuring it out! :P Thanks for the suggestion!
