Abzan Red v3

Standard BRGW

Sideboard

This is the final list I ended up taking to SCG Open Denver. I loved the deck, despite dying early in Day 2. Catacomb Sifter was the all-star. I ran 3 MB, but would likely play the full set moving forward. Atarka Red, typically my worst matchup, was drastically improved if I cast a Sifter on curve. If I went Sifter into Rhino, they couldn't win. Playing 1 Radiant Flames in the MB also turned out to be the best meta game choice I'd made that weekend, with the 2 MB Duress coming in a close second place. I am considering reversing the split between Duress and Fiery Impulse, running 3 and 2 respectively. But again, these are very meta-dependent decisions. This deck ends up playing more like Jund, splashing white for Rhino and Charm. I built this with my pre-rotation Abzan Control list in mind. Atarka Red and G/x Eldrazi Ramp decks were my biggest problem match ups. Faced them Round 1 and Round 2 of Day 1, and beat them both in 3. Post board against Atarka is hard to lose once you have 3 Fiery Impulse, 3 Radiant Flames, and some number of Surge of Righteousness. Surge is dependent on the version of Atarka they're playing. If they're playing Landfall creatures, Ultimate Price is used instead of Surge. Thanks for taking a look!
