Ok they can destroy chained to the rocks all they whant whatever they get back will just get eaten by 1 of my other 30 removal spells. And at my local game stores no one smart or who has any sence is running land distruction in this format. It is slow and has no point.

I am going on a limb in saying that SwaggyMcSwagglepants doesn't own any since they are $20 staples across most formats.

Also, from what I can tell, your sideboard is transformational. mIdrange to aggro? have you thought of Murderous Cut for cheaper removal?
December 19, 2014 6:44 p.m.
I like this. It is an interesting idea, and I also toyed with the transformational deck idea...I wasn't a fan, but to each their own. A few things I would change however:
MB:
-2 Anafenza, -1 Sandstep Citadel
+1 Whip of Erebos, +1 Sylvan Caryatid, +1 Read the Bones
Anafenza has always seemed good in aggro...but her seconf ability is kind of iffy in most match ups unless your meta is ridiculously Whip happy. So into the SB would be my suggestion. Also, 23 lands and 4 rampers is ample to hit a curve of 5 fairly easily. And one more for 'Speth should happen around turn 7 or so...possibly sooner. I like Read the bones here as well, and the whip to help you get back Rhinos, because that is just SICK!!!
SB:
-1 LiliVess, -1 Duneblast, -1 Ascendancy
+1 Anafenza, +2 Drown in Sorrow
Aggro tokens is prevalent enough to merit a minimum of 3 answers SB...it REALLY makes a difference. Like I said...I like Anafenza, but she really only needs to come in vs the whip.
Best of luck!!

Ever thought about Herald of Torment? Bestow him on a rhino and you got yourself a 7/8 flying trampling Siege Rhino of awesomeness

Is Read the Bones really all that useful?
I don't know if it slows down your manabase too much, but wouldn't another one or two scrylands and Liliana Vess's -2utor be enough to make your Abzan Charms hit something tasty more times than not? And it would free you up for a slot for something faster or more heavy-hitting.
I guess I just don't see how the one extra scry off of Read the Bones makes it worthwhile to have it alongside your charms. Although I also don't really know what would fill the single spot it leaves in your mainboard. A second Chord of Calling or maybe a Fated Return to bring back a Roc or Rhino and scry?
I just don't know that those wouldn't geek up your curve or be too redundant. So I probably am not helping much. +1 though.

What about Stain the Mind for those two open spots in your sideboard? It would help you take a control deck"s win-con or cards like Anger of the Gods that would give you trouble in the second or third game.

Warden of the First Tree seems not so great in midrange lists. How has it been working for you?
Also, Valorous Stance seems like it could be good for this deck as it can both hit big dudes of your opponent and protect your big dudes. If nothing else it should be sideboard for vs midrange.

LordOfDispair I kinda saw that with Warden, so once I get another one, they'll go to side. I honestly don't know about Valorous Stance, it's 2 mana conditional removal, and it can help my dudes... yeah, I'll have to think about it. Thanks for the suggestions!

Naaah, seriously though bro, cool build, I will claim the 50TH LIKE WOO WOO!

I would swap the Ultimate Price with the Bile Blight because of how much of a pain tokens can be against the tempo and singular removal suite of this deck. I'm building an Abzan control deck myself, Abzantrol, where I'm even putting a Virulent Plague in my side. It can be the difference in Game 1.
I haven't thought about Dromoka's Command, I'd be curious to see how well it would fit into my own meta. I could see some use in the first couple abilities, and maybe the +1/+1 so folks can't Roast my dudes.
I also like a full set of Satyr Wayfinders because they (1) get you land which helps curb early mana problems, (2) give you plenty of early delve, and (3) can chump a non-trampling fatty... neither of which are bad at any point.

thewyzman: I think most of these ideas are good, but Bile Blight is an unnecessary mana risk right now, and Ultimate Price can hit things with 4 or more power. But blights are in side for a reason, same with Drown in Sorrow, which doesn't permanently debuff Wingman Roc. I would want to know on what card you think I should cut for another Wayfinder, because I'm down with that.
And Dromoka's Command is extremely good for multiple reasons:
Fills up delve
Removal (even though conditional)
Lets there be maindeck enchantment removal
Generates impressive card advantage (always being a 2 for 1)
Makes an easier matchup against a burn deck/.
Makes dudes bigger (just plain good)
Lets you be able to target 2/*'s with Abzan Charm.
March 31, 2015 8:40 p.m.
I was going to suggest replacing a Command with Wayfinder because it's just too conditional. The first ab helps against burn, the second against enchants... but not every deck has that, so it's at risk of being a dead card. If you want a +1/+1 counter, Abzan Charm does that, and the fourth ability is just removal which you already have (and requires the presence of a big enough creature which is situational). I think having a pair is better than a triplet in the long run, whereas Wayfinder is seldom a dead card. Sure there are times when you'd rather draw something more useful than a Finder, but I'd still rather draw that (since it helps delve) than a potentially dead card (Command).
And how is Command a 2-for-1? You spend it to prevent a Stoke the Flames, remove a Jeskai Ascendancy, or one of their creatures. The +1/+1 counter ability is more likely to get YOU 2-for-1'ed.

Until they use Peak Eruption to set you back a turn and/or destroy Chained to the Rocks, like I do.
