Dang, nice card right there lol... it's a Kor Spiritdancer on steroids.

One thing to consider is swapping out Spirit Link for Spirit Loop. I get that it's a bit more mana intensive, but that Rancor-like graveyard condition is nice when your opponent is rocking stuff like Pyroclasm or Damnation.

I like that idea, but I think the totem armor cards should normally be enough (and are a better substitute). I will do some playtesting to see if the extra mana causes any problems.
Thanks

If that's the case, you might want Felidar Umbra.

It's a little expensive and kind of redundant but have you considered Privileged Position?
December 4, 2015 6:02 a.m.
ClockworkSwordfish: I am running the Spirit Links above Felidar Umbra because it can give me double (or triple) lifelink (because it it not lifeink, it is just a triggered ability). I had seen the card before but I don't really want to be spending 2 mana on just lifelink and a totem armor when I can be spending 1 mana on first strike and a totem armor. Good idea though.
Postmortal_Pop: This card would really only be to counter heavy-enchantment hate such as Fracturing Gust but even here it wouldn't work because it targets (doesn't target) all enchantments, so the protection wouldn't matter in the first place. Also, if I had the money for that I'd be running Leyline of Sanctity :P
Thanks guys

You definitely want 4 Horizon Canopy instead of Brushland. You also want more fetchlands and at least 1 Dryad Arbor, to protect against Liliana of the Veil. There are some more obvious upgrades to the manabase, but I'm going to assume you already know that and so I'm just going to critique the rest of the deck. I think you want the full 4 Spider Umbra, although reach is rarely relevant, totem armor is necessary protection against sweepers and combat. Lastly, you might want to consider Keen Sense, especially because you're not running Kor Spiritdancer for card draw. Also, I'm curious about Helm of the Gods. It's really interesting, how has it been working out for you?

Thanks for the suggestions infinitemana!
Yeah, the budget tag is up there currently, I am trying to keep it as budget as possible, I figure w/o the sideboard the deck comes in around $170 (even less if you drop the one Windswept Heath that I happen to own, and even less if you drop the Razorverge Thickets and Path to Exiles). But if I ever did make this deck fully competitive and dropped the budget, well Sunpetal Grove and some Brushlands would be out to say the least, being replaced with both of your suggestions. Keen Sense, I just haven't playtested it much (or at all), but I think a no-damage enchantment isn't really the thing this deck is looking for, considering more than half of my topdecks would not be enchantments. I will put it (and the others) on the maybeboard, though.
As for Helm of the Gods, this is taking up the free slot in my deck, it is most likely gonna end up being SB'ed, or if Keen Sense can make its way in I can remove 1 or both of em. I like it because it is in some ways a copy of Ethereal Armor, the best card in this deck.
Thanks again, and I hope you don't get too bored looking at that wall of text.

I would suggest the following:
- Gaddock Teeg : Sweet control vs. oppenents playing heave spells. Won't affect you at all.
- Loxodon Warhammer : Equipment stays on the battlefield after a boardwipe
and +1 from me :-)

Yeah, teeg certainly could kill Tron in particular, but the budget lol. As for Loxodon Warhammer, it's just a bit expensive mana-wise, I'd much rather be running Helm of the Gods.
Thanks PartyJ.

Any enchantment that gives totem armor and Unflinching Courage as a 2 of should definitely be in the deck.
January 5, 2016 12:03 a.m.
CanadianShinobi, I had it in here but took it out because the lifelink and trample are often redundant instances of itself and this is a waste. If I were to play a 3-mana enchantment it would be Battle Mastery or Boar Umbra.
January 5, 2016 1:24 a.m.
Something for late-game I believe would be better, something like Inquisitor's Flail (but not double strike because it would be redundant with Battle Mastery). Deathtoich just isn't that good here, because I'm already putting out stupid amounts of damage that would bring a Goyf to its knees.
Thanks PartyJ, and sorry you're stuck under my deck again lol

Haha no worries :P,
well the permanent state of equipment might prove better than a Spirit Link I believe. Deathtouch is the bonus :)
Is Swords to Plowshares not modern legal? Otherwise I would strongly suggest those as well.
Im not a modern player :p Just guesssing ;)
February 15, 2016 3:32 a.m.
No, it ain't modern legal lol (if it were, then it would be a heck of a lot more expensive).
(Insert joke insulting Commander players here) :P

jamesfiek, glad you (maybe) like the name. As for the card, I don't think it would quite work as it's red, 6 mana, and summoning a 1/1 hexproof to be sacrificed at end of turn, not a great idea lol. (Not to mention the legality xD)
MagicalShrek, you're back lol and not commenting about super-man punching my bogle. I can tell it's german, but is it a joke about (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Es_ist_ein_Ros_entsprungen)?

I'm running Pentarch Ward in my poison-zur deck, and it's doing fine. If you were to splash black, you could try Phyresis or Glistening Oil for the laughs.
March 10, 2016 1:52 p.m.
seshiro_of_the_orochi thanks for commenting, I didn't realize there was another Phyresis-type card running around. I had been debating whether I should splash a color or not, this makes black a stronger option. However, I think it would ruin the consistency.
Thanks

If you're gonna play naya bogles, just add Uril, the Miststalker.
