I think the strategy is pretty simple.
Get out Saffie Eriksdotter and
Hans Eriksson
, find a way to put
Lhurgoyf
and
Revenant
on top of your deck, finally, get
Hans Eriksson
to attack with
Lhurgoyf
on the field attacking, get it to kill
Hans Eriksson
, only for Saffie Eriksdotter to either sacrifice herself to save her brother, or to warn
Hans Eriksson
only for her to fall into a time vortex. "Ach! Hans, Run, it's the
Lhurgoyf
!"
Then get
Hans Eriksson
to attack again with the
Revenant
on the field. "Not again"
(Make sure you get out
Revenant
last. If you get it first, it's not a flavor win. It's only a flavor win if you get out
Lhurgoyf
first to sac
Saffi Eriksdotter
THEN get
Revenant
as it's suggested that Hans encounters it after the
Lhurgoyf
)
I'd say getting out
Revenant
is a lower priority, but feel free to get that out.
"Ach! Hans, Run!"
is a suggestion, but I don't consider it to be a part of the Hans series since the picture suggests a totally different Hans then from the big fat jolly guy who lost his sister somewhere in time, so it's not a flavor win.
Of course, you can still use it to tutor your important legendary brother and sister. It's extra recommended to play it in 4-player games, where you can yell out "Ach! Hans, run, it's the Hans Ericksson"
To tutor these cards a little bit more easily, (I've been putting tutors in all of my decks, but I have yet to exceed 200 dollars in total deck price INCLUDING LANDS) I've added
Congregation at Dawn
which conveniently puts 3 creatures on top of your deck, and it's a 3 mana card, you're likely to have enough mana to get out Hans next turn right after Saffie. Or maybe you already got either Hans or Saffie. Conveniently, you can search out the rest, which gets you the
Revenant
more easily.
Sunforger
can search out THAT card, buuuuuuuutt it'll be a bit awkward, as you have to play it, equip it, THEN FINALLY detach it using its ability THEN play the card. Awkward, but it gets the job done.
For the rest of the cards, I just added mana dorks that usually sac themselves to fuel the Lhurgoyf and the Revenant. You want to have at LEAST 4 creatures in YOUR graveyard so that they're capable of killing Hans.
In the end, your goal is to kill the running and warning brother and sister duo,
Hans Eriksson
and
Saffi Eriksdotter
. "Nothing could ruin such a fine day Saffi". Except losing your sister to time and getting attacked by another creature that feasts on the grave. "Nothing could ruin such a fine day"
