Brawl Deck designed to out pace your opponent and the deck itself is a good way to get into brawl.

I've given it to new players because of the fairly low difficulty and they've all enjoyed it, because who doesn't like aggro?

How big was the life changed update from 30 -> 20 ?

• In short very. It makes my aggro life a lot easier to win either by taking 20 life or making them concede on turn 5-6. In my current meta the only time i go passed turn 9 is due to playing against a heavy counter spell Teferi with a second sun win con.

Cards that may be cut

• Karn's Temporal Sundering : 6 mana is seeming to be too much, the amount of times I've used this as a stall to just find another card is becoming a problem and when in matches with control decks odds are it's going to get countered.

$100 is too much for a new format!!! Well here are the Budget cuts to make the deck half price!

• Chandra, Torch of Defiance : The card is just too much good value along with being heavily played in standard makes it a little pricey.

• Rekindling Phoenix : Another value for money card.

Additional info:- The brawl rotation is coming (in Q4) and with that cards wont be legal in this format, however i will be keeping this deck updated with all changes so that it's FMN ready to hit face!

First Brawl Tournament Show

A quick note before talking about the event a few card changes were made going in due to not being able to find them before attending : Insult was switched for a Sure Strike , Soul-Scar Mage for a Harnessed Lightning and Scavenger Grounds for an Island.

The event itself was a best out of three using a Swiss pairing algorithm. Normally brawl is a best of one but to get better games we changed it.

First Match Adeliz VS Shanna, Sisay's Legacy Show

Game 1 - On the Draw Show

Not much to say apart from my opponent got mana screwed at 3 and i just kept punching damage with metallic mimic turn two, Adeliz turn 3 into them and by turn 5 they conceded.

1-0 Win!

Game 2 -On the Draw Show

The second game was a struggle for myself. For the opening hand after the last game i felt a little confident and kept a greedy hand allowing me to pump Adeliz win the game quickly with two bolts, two islands, a mountain, merfolk trickster and divedown. Little did i know however that my opponent kept a very aggressive hand and started strong with a turn two make two saplings followed by two more creatures turn 3 and then turn four bringing out his commander which became out of bolt range and left me with unfavorable trades. The game was decided over an over aggressive swing by me leaving only my Rekindling Phoenix to block leaving them on 4 life to which they then used cast out on the phoenix and swung for lethal.

1-1 loss..

Game 3 - On the Play Show

In all fairness this game was decided very quickly even though going to turn 8/9, the pure pressure this Adeliz deck provides is insane on their turn two i spell swindled their commander and then let the wrecking ball that was Adeliz smash their life pool into oblivion.

2-1 Win!

Second Match Adeliz VS Urgoros, the Empty One Show

Game 1 - On the Draw Show

After watching my friend build this deck i was extremely doubtful of my chances against black control and being on the draw meant i was most likely going to have to deal with either a Duress/Divest/Harsh Scrutiny. I kept a decedent hand and guess what turn one duress... It set me back but not as bad as i thought. His turn three hit and no land! The Dream! It was time to go off brought in Adeliz and swung for 2, His turn 4... NO LAND!! I then proceeded to buff Adeliz and swing for 7 followed by a speedy concede after his turn 5 revealed no land! After the game series it turned out they had a thematic compass in hand and he kept the hand because of the confidence against my match up making it a 2-0 or a 2-1 series for him.

1-0 win!

Game 2 - On the Draw Show

I honestly can't remember much about this game apart from two match winning mistakes from both sides. The match itself came down too Chainer's Torment and how it played out, on the second part of the saga he made two clerics spent all his mana to cast The Eldest Reborn to make me either sacrifice Adeliz or Ghitu Journeymage whilst i had Jaya's Immolating Inferno in hand so i sacrificed the Journeymage and proceeded Inferno his three clerics remaining cleric so that his demon wouldn't have any creatures to sacrifice when it came in however i read the card wrong which states during the upkeep to which sagas trigger after meaning he gets the demon and doesn't have to pay 6 life, luckily i left one blue open to spell pierce his commander as he tried to bring that in however through the game i was down to 5 life due to the beat downs.

My next turn was the big misplay he was at 16 life and i Kari Zev's Expertise his demon meaning with Adeliz i had a total of 9 damage on board with a Lightning Strike and Shock in hand to make it game however i quickly moved into combat and forgetting the second half of the spell meaning i could cast the lightning bolt for free and won there and then combat went through and i tapped my one last mana source to shock him for 2 leaving him on 5. Yes another mistake was to not shock him during damage but i lost my game sense after making that huge misplay.

Next was my friends game winning misplay after ending my turn he untapped and began his upkeep his demon's ability triggered and with no other creatures he had to take 6 damage, he panicked and attempted to quickly destroy it to which a judge was called due to its ability on the stack, now what i didn't know was that he had Vraska Contempt to which he overlooked out of panic, meaning he could gain the two life and exile Adeliz meaning i had no blockers and won with one life... i then proceeded to bolt him next turn for the game.

2-0 Win!

I honestly felt bad for him in these games it shouldn't of been a 2-0 victory but mistakes happen and you learn from them.
